Hydrangea

I coloured this image a little while ago with SU's new watercolour pencils, then it spent a while on my desk!  Eventually I fussy cut it out and mounted it on a scrap of yellow card. I cut the plaid paper with a stitched square die but the stitching doesn't really show up in the photo.

I am entering this into a new to me challenge The Flower Challenge and as the yellow came out of the snippets box  a visit to the Playground is called for.

  10. Hi Sue, Thank you so much for your comments.
I have had distressed ink pads for ages and tried all sorts of ways to use them, stipple brushes, the special sponges, make up sponges and none of them seemed any good to me.
I was cleaning my oven shelves, using the scourer for the job and then I decided that I had too much soap on the rough side so I got a piece of kitchen roll to dab some of it off and it looked quite good so I decided to try this with the DI and quite liked it. We have a little card group that meets every 3rd Thursday in the month and I mentioned that I had done this and one of he Ladies said, "you can use the sponge part as well" so I gave it a go and was well pleased with it, far better results than from the sponges that cost a great deal more. As I never got great results I was never that keen on this sort of thing, but now I am loving it and will probably go OTT with it. The only problem is that I have my inks that long that they have dried out a bit and as they have gone up not sure if I really do want to buy any more.
Sorry for waffling on, but you did ask
