Leaving Card

I was asked by OH to make another personalised leaving card! I think making this one for him  has set a precedent! It had to have a car on it again and a reference to Kidderminster!

So Craft Artist to the rescue again! This time I printed a map with Kidderminster on, scanned it and took it into Craft Artist. The car and arrow were from Daisy Trail digikits. I added a metal effect to the arrow and printed the page out. Then matted it onto red cardstock. The car was fussy cut and mounted with foam pads and the sentiment was a Sizzix alphabet.

Personalised Leaving Card!

My OH is keen on having cards personalised or themed to something the person likes, and sometimes it is not always easy to visualise a card to suit. This was one of them. The request was a large (ie A4 size) card,as someone was leaving to work somewhere else , so it had to be big enough for everyone to sign, to include his car(dark blue Mercedes)  which apparently was his pride and joy, his personalised number plate, and could I make it so that it looked as though he was speeding away leaving a trail of exhaust fumes.!!!!!!

My reply was not repeatable!

So after some internet searching I found a car image I could use, although it wasn't a Mercedes, but what to do with it?

Craft Artist to the rescue! I found a blue paper with clouds on and another that looked like tyre marks on tarmac which I used for the background and the road. Took the car image into the programme and added a cartoon filter to it and changed the colour to blue. I was originally going to colour it with copics but changed my mind as it was so big. I did personalise the number plate but have blurred for privacy. Then for the exhaust fumes I used a speech bubble to hold the message. I printed it all out flat then printed the car and bubble again and decoupaged them.  I'm pleased to say that all who signed it were impressed as was the recipient. Unfortunately just before it was given to him, someone ran into the back of the car and wrote it off! (He was OK though and apparently now has a much newer model of the car).
