Chalkboard Club Card

First of all a warm welcome to my new followers who may or may not have come from my other blog! I sometimes find it difficult to tell who has just joined me as blogger seems to add you  a bit randomly! So if you are new please leave a comment so I can welcome you properly!

At  a recent card club evening we made this card using the new chalkboard cardstock from Stampin' Up! together with the new chalk ink.
The card base is Calypso Coral, the paper is from the Stacked With Love stack  and the stamp set is Amazing Birthday. A snippet of Calypso Coral ribbon finished it off.

Digitally Sweet Challenge #78

This week at Digitally Sweet we have a photo to inspire you.
  Linked to www.apple.com

I took it rather literally and went for multi coloured balloons and a bright sentiment.

Now normally do all my digital creating in CraftArtist 2 but as I also have Stampin' Up!'s  MDS I thought it was time I tried to get to grips with it. I suppose because I'm used to how Craft Artist works I have struggled a bit with MDS as it works differently. I do like the fact that you can colour the stamps as though with a marker pen  as in the sentiment I used above.  As it is above it is 100% digital and if I just printed it off would be a flat card. However it lends itself to being printed multiple times and decoupaging the balloons and present up.

Don't forget to visit the challenge and look at all the other inspiration there and come and join in. We'd love to see your digital creations.

Pink Poppies

Poppies are one of my favourite flowers and when I saw this SU stamp

I knew I had to have it even though I have other poppies stamps. You can get it HERE if you too like it. I was surprised by how big it is! This card shows only one small part of it.

I inked it up with my SU markers then filled in with a lighter pink giving it a slight watercolour effect.  Cut out with a Spellbinders die which I inked with Tattered Rose distress ink.The papers are from an old 6 x 6 K & Co pad.The flowers are also made from the paper using a small Spellbinders flower die (Itty Bitty Blossoms I think). I followed the sketch from Seize the Birthday challenge.

Less is More Challenge - Week 79 - Colour

I have to say I have really struggled with this week's challenge! The colour combo is blue and green and everything I tried ended up in the bin!! I eventually came up with this but don't think it really has enough "white space".The flourish is from SU's Everything Eleanor stamp set and the butterflies are Embosslits also from SU. The blue card is a textured pearlised one that I think originally came from QVC when I first started making cards - a few years ago now!

Celebration Bike!

This was made using some Stampin' Up paper that was left over from another project. The stamp is from the hostess set that is in the summer mini which you can view here. The ribbon from my stash.

80th Birthday Card

A friend living in France is going to be eighty next week. This is the card I have made her.

I embossed the middle white piece of card with a Creative Expressions embossing folder. The two pink edge pieces were made with a Martha Stewart punch, the flowers, pink frame and number panel used spellbinders dies and the ribbon is Stampin' Up.

Pennant Punch Trees

I've been on a mission to use up some of the stash left over from last Christmas. These card blanks have been ideal for making quick and easy cards - perfect when you need a lot!! As a greeting is pre-stamped round the edge there is no need to find a suitable sentiment.  I made a whole batch of these using up different scraps of paper. The trees are made using Stampin Up's Pennant Punch and the pots were stamped with the matching stamp set - Pennant Parade. I've posted on here and not on my SU blog as the papers and card were not SU.

Less is More - Week 21 Sketch

I'm afraid I chickened out of last week's challenge but this week's is much more to my looking. having said that though I must have a touch of "crafter's block" as it has taken me three days to come up with something quite simple! Part of the problem was that I decide I should use some of the bits that were sitting on my table! Anyway this is the sketch

and this is my card

I used some papers that were on my desk,  the plain one is from HOTP and the spotty one is making memories. I originally wanted to use the other side which has pink flowers on but it was much too busy. The butterflies are from Stampin Up's Sale-a-bration Bliss set.

Stampin Up's Breast Cancer Event

Way back in May Stampin Up held a Breast Cancer event. Kits were available from them to make 6 projects which they gave instructions for on a special website. I got my kit from the lovely Monica and have just finished making them all. The sharp- eyed amongst you will see that I have made seven not six. That's because there was a bit of confusion over the kits which resulted in me having two of set one. That was fortunate as the first one I made I went wrong and I punched the wrong corner! All the other projects have been slightly altered as I didn't have all the right supplies. So instead of Crumb Cake ink I used Soft Suede but stamped off first so it wasn't too dark. On the project that used the square lattice embossing folder I used a swiss dots one and inked it in pink instead of crumb cake. Soft suede was too dark for this and I didn't have anything else remotely the same. However, I still think they look rather nice!

Butterflies

I made this for the Less is More Challenge Congratulations or Thank you. I used Stampin Up's Pocket Silhouettes and the butterfly was from their Sale a Bration Bliss set which I have had sitting on my table just waiting to be used. I coloured them with Marvy le Plume markers and added some crystal glitter to the butterfly wings. As it also fits in with a number of other challenges I am also entering this into:

Stamp Something- Something with Wings
Totally Papercrafts - Glitter
Papertake Weekly - Anything goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything goes

Season of Joy

For this card I used the Stampin'Up Season of Joy stamp and embossed it with red sparkle embossing powder then mounted on red holographic card. The snowflake border is the Martha Stewart large snowflake border punch and the small snowflakes are from the Martha Stewart snowflake corner punch.
