Butterflies for Less is More

It's a long time since I played at Less is More, but I has a spare hour or two so decided that I would join in with their current challenge of butterflies. I also needed a female birthday card!

I searched through my dies for some butterfly ones - I think these are some very old ones from Spellbinders and also rummeged in the snippets drawer and found a piece of brusho'd paper that had been much of a success. I cut the two embossed butterflies out and glued them flat straight onto the card blank. Then I had just enough left to cut out the openwork top layer of both and attached them by just glueing the body down. The hemp card blank is another old item from my stash which came from Card Creations before it changed hands, sadly I don't think they stock them any longer.

Flutterby!

The new challenge at Cardz for Galz is Flutterby, a nice change from Christmas cards!

I already had the butterflies coloured from a crafting evening a while ago, so chose my colours to go with them. After adding them to the card I liberally covered them in Wink of Stella so they have a really nice glimmer inreal life.
Do pop over and see what the rest of the DT have made and hope you'll be able to join in with us.

Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge

Gosh this year is really going fast!! Time for the June challenge at Happy Little Stampers. As always it is Anything Goes but the optional twist is Smile

I decided to be a bit different this month and move away from my usual white card, and use black instead.I have used a NBUS stamp set  which I embossed using gold embossing powder and then  I dug out my H2Os which I havent used in ages. I'd forgotten how lovely they are to use, and how good they are on black card. IRL this is really shimmery.

I mounted the panel on some turquoise glitter card, then on to a black card base. Then I made another on acrylic paper, mounted on to a turquoise card base. I used exactly the same colour paints, just to see how different they look.

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.

IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER, YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!

Make My Monday - Embossing

Welcome to a new challenge at Make My Monday and this time we would like to see embossing on your makes, either dry or heat. I'm not really very happy with this but didn't have time to start again.

I put some Worn Lipstick and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxides onto my craft sheet, misted with water then smooshed the card across to make the background, and the sentiment panel. I heat embossed the buterflies and sentiment with gold embossing powder then coloured in the butterflies with the same colour distress markers. But they looked much too sugary so went over the pink with Fired Brick, then mounted everything onto some pale pink card. Lots of inspiration on the challenge blog so why not hop over and have a look and join in.

Butterfly Anniversary

At the card club I go to one of the ladies brought in a lot of stuff she wanted to get rid of. Among it were some rhinestone embellishments that took my eye, including this butterfly.

In my box of snippets and bits and pieces I found the white diecut and the turquoise embossed card. So I put them all together with some ribbon and a peel off and had an anniversary card for my son and DIL later this month.

Butterfly Challenge

Mrs A's Butterfly challenge is the letter P, to use pink and/or punches. I have managed both and made a very girly anniversary card.

Everything was out of my scraps box except the peel off which looks silver although I coloured it woth a pink Copic marker. The punched butterflies are pink IRL, but the card is some Docrafts pink holographic card which is printed with butterflies. No matter what angle I took the photo at they came out in blues and yellows! The frame was cut with a Spellbinders die a long time ago and is not a die I actually own. I think I must have done it at a card club meeting.

I'm also joining in at Craft your Passion which is always "Anything Goes"

Butterflies.

WOW - two posts from me in one day!

Mrs A's butterfly challenge is to use teal and or texture. I think I've managed both with this card.  The die and

embossing folder were the freebie on the latest Diecutting Essential magazine. I cut the two butterflies out a second time and covered the with foil using the Minc. The Happy Birthday die was also a freebie on a Tattered Lace magazine. I actually thought the letters were joined together until I cut them - fortunately I'd put doublesided tape on the back before cutting them as they are very tiny! To make it easier to attach them reasonably straight I embossed the die onto the card so I had a faint outline to use to line the letters up.

As well as The Butterfly challenge I'm going to join in at Cuttlebug Mania who want butterflies and the Playground  as the teal card was a snippet.

The Blues!

I managed to find a little time to craft over the weekend and made this card for Less is More who want us to use sprays and mists.By a happy chance it also fits the theme for Addicted to Cas who want "Blue"
Stampin' Royalty who want "circles" and as it was also a snippet used for the butterfly I'm going to take it over to the Playground as well. WOW - four challenges with one card, not sure I've ever managed that before.

Roy and I are slowly getting into a sort of routine between various outpatients appointments, but most of my time seems to be taken up now with food shopping (ugh!) and cooking! need to get it more organised!

Digitally Sweet Challenge #99 - Favourite Colours

This weeks challenge at Digitally Sweet is to use your favourite colours. I don't really have a favourite - it all depends on the mood I'm in, the season, the weather - anything can make me change my mind!  The sponsor this week is Bugaboo and I  chose to work with Silhouette Butterfly Flowers. So this influenced my choice of colours. Lots of butterflies are orange coloured  and it's summer so hot colours seem to be in order.

As usual I have created it in Craft Artist 2 and used elements from a variety of digikits.

Digitally Sweet #79 Black and White and One Other Colour

Welcome to another week at Digitally Sweet and this week the challenge is Black and White and one other colour.  We are sponsored by Lunagirl who has produced some fabulous images for us to work with.  I chose some snowdrops and a gorgeous brightly coloured butterfly.

I used the image faded out on the background paper which is from a Daisy Trail digikit (sorry can't remember which one now - I should write these posts as soon as I've finished creating instead of later !). I made the paper more transparent too.  Mounted the image onto a green circle matted with black and added the butterflies (all done digitally). I thought it would make a nice Mother's Day card even though I no longer have a mother to give it too. (Mind you she would have hated it as she was very superstitious about the colour green and wouldn't have it in the house if she could help it. She did have to come to terms with it a bit though as my last school had a green uniform - which I hated as well!)

Less is More Challenge - Week 79 - Colour

I have to say I have really struggled with this week's challenge! The colour combo is blue and green and everything I tried ended up in the bin!! I eventually came up with this but don't think it really has enough "white space".The flourish is from SU's Everything Eleanor stamp set and the butterflies are Embosslits also from SU. The blue card is a textured pearlised one that I think originally came from QVC when I first started making cards - a few years ago now!

Arty Girlz Challenge- Wings

The Arty Girlz challenge this week has the theme of "Wings" with some super stamps from SkattyKats to be won. This is my entry. I used a stamp from Stamps Happen that I have had a long time and never used with a brown inkpad, then watercoloured the butterflies with Whispers pens.
