Furry Friends!

Furry friends is the theme this week at Cardz 4 Guyz so it was the perfect excuse to use my NBUS stamp from SU - Baby Bear. It is a three part stamp which gives that lovely furry look to him.

I stamped him in Sahara Sand, Tip Top taupe and Soft Suede. The fancy mat is an old Spellbinders die and the backing paper is from Little Claire. The bow ia a ready made one that I found in my ribbon box, and I added some stars for extra interest. I made it into a new baby card as my neighbour's daughter is expecting her first baby soon. I already have a baby girl card in my stash so added a baby boy one so that I am ready when baby arrives!

I was delighted to see that I had been picked as one of the Top 3 last week! Thanks ladies!

Rudolph Day August 2016

I promised to show you how I had used the rejected bits from my LIM card here when Rudolph Day came around. So here it is.

I punched out the individual letters using a postage stamp punch which was just the right size, then mounted them on some gold mirri card. I embossed the card base with the SU Softly Falling embossing folder.

Birthday and Butterflies

After I had made this card, Twofers announced their current challenge was to use the sentiment as the focal point as well. So I made a more feminine version.

The backing paper was supposed to be a Christmas one but I never thought it looked very Christmassy. However the background is vanilla so it mans I can also enter this over at Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge which is V for vanilla and or vases. I didn't manage a vase though.

Happy Birthday!

First of all I'd like to welcome June as my latest follower, it was good to see the follow gadget is working again, as I've not been able to follow any new blogs for ages!.

Cardz 4 Guyz is looking for the sentiment or words to be the focal point of the card. I have been looking for an opportunity to use the new SU stamp and this seemed to be a good one.

I found a pad of male themed papers that I've had for ages and used one of the sheets - well. part of one, for the background. The tiny footballs and rosette were cut from another sheet. Ribbon didn't seem right for a male card so i pulled out a piece of raffia from my bits and pieces box.

Less is More entry Two!

The link up at Less Is More  wouldn't let me link two entries from one post!

So my second card was supposed to be really simple and easy! Not so. After numerous stamping attempts I eventually got one I was satisfied with. The stamp set is from Clarity and embossed with WOW sparkly gold embossing powder.

Now that I've got the stamps aligned on the Misti I intend to make a few more in different colours. I've also upcycled some of the failures, but you'll have to wait till Rudolph Day to see that one.

Less is More - French OLC!!

This week is the dreaded One Layer challenge at Less is More with a French theme.  I eventually ended up with two cards after a number of failures. My first one was using a set of stamps bought quite a long time ago and never used. I embossed a rectangular frame with a Creative Expressions die but unfortunately it partly cut through. As I had already stamped the Sacre Coeur de Montmartre and added some colour I didn't want to redo it, so held it together on the back with removable tape, with the idea of later mounting it onto another card. Then I realised there was some inky smudges so covered them with the Paris stamp and some hand drawn birds!!

The link up won't let me use the same link twice so my second card is in the next post!

Seaside Easel Card

I made this card a little while ago when Mr Mojo had taken a bit of a holiday! When that happens I find it quite useful to either case a card completely from a magazine or at least quite closely. This one was made using some papers that came with I think "Making Cards".

I made it into an easel card and added some stamped and fussy cur shells with a bit of gold cord. Many's the time I have sat in one of these shelters, sheltering from the rain in the wind on a British seafront! The theme this week at Cardz 4 Guyz is By the Seaside so I am joining in there and also at Craft your Passion where the theme is always Anything Goes.

Blooming Birthday for Less is More

Less is More has had a two week challenge this time while some of the ladies were away having fun at a stamping retreat, and I'm still only joining in at the last minute! The theme is "Texture" and it took me some time to come up with something.

Although it doesn't show up well in the photo the texture is on the flowers. They are liberally covered
With glossy accents.

Butterfly Challenge

Mrs A's Butterfly challenge is the letter P, to use pink and/or punches. I have managed both and made a very girly anniversary card.

Everything was out of my scraps box except the peel off which looks silver although I coloured it woth a pink Copic marker. The punched butterflies are pink IRL, but the card is some Docrafts pink holographic card which is printed with butterflies. No matter what angle I took the photo at they came out in blues and yellows! The frame was cut with a Spellbinders die a long time ago and is not a die I actually own. I think I must have done it at a card club meeting.

I'm also joining in at Craft your Passion which is always "Anything Goes"

Daisy card.

It's been a little while since I visited the Playground, so thought it was high time I visited to see what mischief my fellow playmates were getting up to.

Apart from the card blank this was made entirely out of snippets. The daisies are cut with a SU sizzix die and the leaves are a very old punch, make unknown . I thought the paper was so pretty it didn't need too much embellishment.
