"The Wedding", Rudolph Day and Happy Little Stampers

Well we were so lucky to have great weather last Saturday for our wedding. Yep, I've finally gone and done it!  Just a few phone photos for you as I haven't got the official ones yet.

Signing the Register

With some of the grand kids. From L-R Dylan (Roy's great nephew) Declan (my eldest Grandson) Pollly (Roy's great niece) and Jack (my other grandson. Missing is Daisy - Polly's sister who didn't want her photo taken and ran away!

Pretending to cut the cake which was quite small but looks positively minute in the picture!

And now here's my card for Rudolph Day and also Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge which is to use embossing. I'm also hopping over to the Playground as the red card was a snippet. The die is from Memory Box and the EF is a retired  SU one.

Cardz 4 Guyz - A card with movement!!

I have to be quite honest and say that I found this weeks challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz  difficult! It was set by Sharon (former DT member). Shaker cards didn't seem to be very male orientated to me but I hope someone will prove me wrong! After browsing the web for inspiration I came across a tutorial on Splitcoast stampers for a slider card where the image changes from black and white to coloured when you pull it. A whole afternoon later I came up with this.

The colours are acually Pool Pary and Real Red but my photography skills seem to be a bit lacking.

A few snowflakes as embellishment and it was done.I have to sayt hough that I think it will have to be a prototype as it is far from perfect and I wouldn't give it to anybody, I suppose practise makes perfect but doubtful whether I will be doing that!

Cardz 4 Guyz Halloween

There a new challenge at  Cardz 4 Guyz and this week the challenge set by Joan is Boo (Halloween) or an Autumn Thank you card. Now I'm not big on halloween and rarely make anything for it. However decided I would make a card in the theme as I could send it to one of my grandsons, they usually dress up for it. And this is what I came up with. The image and paper are both from SU but are digital ones from MDS(no longer available!) I inked around the image and added the spider's webs and "eek!" The witch's face is coloured with copics.
Of course I had to make another one for my other grandson and used the same set of images but the paper is from a different digital set as MDS wouldn't let me change the colour of the paper. I think I must have been doing something wrong as it 's a long time since I've  used it.

This time I inked with Dusty Concord, added the spiders' webs and the spiders with the word "spooky".

Don't forget to check out the rest of th DTs cards. I'm also entering this into Craft your Passion and Crafting from the Heart where the challenges are always Anything Goes.

Dragonflies.

The Allsorts challenge this week is to use the colour pink as it is Pink October - in aid of breast cancer awareness.

I made the background with distress crayons just scribbled on the card, then moved around with a water brush. The flower is from SU Awesomely Artistic and the dragonflies I think are from Indigoblu. I added a few splatters of gold as a finishing touch. I am also joining in at Seize the Birthday where it is Anything Goes.

Black and White Cat

The challenge at Twofers has arisen from the ashes as Always Use Rubber . Their first challenge is "It's Not All Black and White" with a photo inspiration.

Well having a black and white cat I had to use that photo as mine. I had recently acquired this Inkylicious stamp called Toby which was perfect. But I have renamed it Cleo after my cat!

I must say it stamped beautifully! I often find that solid stamps give a less than perfect coverage but this one really was perfect. I'm also entering this into Use Your Stuff who are asking for Orange, Black and Neutral.

Alice Views

I thought it was about time to show another Oz layout. I have had this one in drafts for quite a while but while doing a bit of blog hopping this evening I realised it would fit in with the challenge at Lasting Memories which is Elements of Nature.

The photos show views of Alice Springs from the Anzac Memorial. Although it is difficult to see here, the jacaranda trees were all out in bloom, so it looked like a blue haze in the distance.

Cardz 4 Guyz - Time Flies

It's time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week the theme is Time Flies chosen by Jan. I knew I had some clock dies and stamps that I had bought a while ago to use on a scrapbook page. While looking for them I found some more clock stamps aand th very appropriate "Tempus Fugit", all of which had been magazine freebies.

I randomly stamped the clocks in Versamark on a scrap of taupe card and then added the words in black.I used the main clock and dies (I think they are MFT) as the main image. I edged the diecut dentiment with a black copic as that was easier than trying to cut a black piece of card the same shape!

A New Home

My soon to be stepdaughter is about to complete on her new house (her own since splitting with her boyfriend) and she is really looking forward to it, so of course I had to make her a card.

I've cased this from an idea seen on Pinterest but I've no idea whose card it was, if it was yours please let me know so I can give you credit for it. I made the card blank from Pool Party, the backing paper is from a very old K&Co pad, the stamps and dies are all from Stampin Up. The house is coloured with Copics. I'm entering this into HLS Anything goes with Dies, and Pixies Playground where Miss Di is celebrating 250  challenges with some super prizes.

More Faux Vellum

After making this card I salvaged the bauble from th one where i had made a very inky smudge and mounted onto some glitter card from the snippets box, and onto a piece of backing paper in a taupe colour which was also a snippet. Yes I know they are large snippets but it is time i visited Miss Di again at the Playground.

Then I decided to do another one in blue, and used Pool Party and Lost Lagoon ink.

I cant decide whether I like the kraft or the blue best.

Cardz 4 Guyz - Nature

The challenge at  Cardz 4 Guyz this week is Nature and was chosen by Helen. I used a SU stamp that hadn't seen any ink!  I coloured it with SU markers and a watercolour brush, then sponged some sky and grass.

I mounted the image panel onto some dark red card after trying various colours, it seemed to be the best. The sentiment was part of the same stamp set. The leaves are the masculine version of a butterfly - to cover a smudge! Please make sure you pop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT have made, and the come and join in the fun, just make sure your card is for the male gender!
