Happy Little Stampers - Christmas Challenge

It's time for the July Christmas challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

As always it's Anything Goes with an optional twist of Santa. I used a new stamp from a paper Artsy set that I bought last year after seeing it at The HLS Retreat. That seems like such a long time ago!

He's coloured with Wink of Stella and Promarkers. The border is hand drawn, and the red patterned paper is from the snippets box. He's really quite sparkly IRL.Think my son might get this one as he is definitely a "bah humbug! person!

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.
IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER, YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!

Blue and Brown

We have a new challenge for you at Cardz for Guyz, we would like to see your creations using blue and brown for the men in your life.

I have to confess that it had to be something I could make really quickly as my craft room is just too hot and stuffy to be in for any length of time with this unusually hot weather we're currently having.. I used the SU set Epic Celebrations, stamped in Soft Suede on Crumb Cake card. The shoes were coloured with pencils and i doodled a border

Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge.

Can you believe it's July already! Where is this year going? I do know it's going too fast though, but it's time for the new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. As always it's Anything Goes but there's an optional twist of "Birthday". Easy - right?

I did some smooshing this month! I swiped some DO Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio on my craft mat, spritzed a little water on it and smooshed my card across it a few times until I was happy with the result. When it was dry I stamped the Uniko stamp with versamark and DO Faded Jeans then clear embossed it. I then used Mermaid Lagoon and a waterbrush to colour in parts of the stamp such as the large Birthday.
I added a strip of washi tape to the card base either side of the panel. My photo seems to have come out a bit too blue as the background behind the card is really grey!

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to sp!end at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.

I'm Late, I'm late........

.........for Rudolph Day! Just getting in at the very last minute this month.

I love these fun Santa's, I think they're MFT but I've lost the packet so not sure.  He's colored with Promarkers and cut out with a couple of dies that must have been free with a magazine. Anoter quick and easy card!

Ice Cream Anyone?

Are you ready for the new challenge at Make My Monday? The theme is Ice Cream or ice cream colours and we certainly have the weather for it at the moment. Sunny and warm!

I used some background paper that I just happened to find when I was sorting out my papers. It might be SU or DCWV, not sure as it was just a loose sheet. The stamped image is from Simon Says Stamp, coloured with Copics. Then I found some ribbon with ice lollies on, maybe that was too much, but I added it anyway! Check out the challenge blog for lots more inspiration.

Sunny Summer days

The new challenge at Cardz for Galz is Sunny Summer Days! There's not much sign of sun here today (Tuesday) though, very grey but also very warm and humid. Not my favourite type of weather. But at least my card is sunny!
I used a sunburst die from SU which has sat unused in my stash since I bought it. The stamps are from two Simon Says Stamp sets, the paper from my snippets box. Make sure you check out the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team has made.I'm entering this into the Playground as well.

Metallic Madness at Cardz for Guyz

This new challenge at Cardz for Guyz is Metallic Madness.  I have gone with Mirri card for the metallic bit, and die cut some cogs out of gold and grey.

The card base is my last but one sheet of Early Espressoand the patterned paper is a snipet from an old SU paper.I finished it off with a peel off sentiment! Something I haven't used for a long time. Hope to see you joining in with us.

Resist Embossing at Make My Monday

I was a bit dubious about the theme this time as I have never had much success with reesist embossing, and previous attempts have usually ended up in the bin. This time though I am reasonably happy with the results.
I used a leaf stamp from a recent SSS kit which I embossed in white. Then I brushed on Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxides and gave it just a gentle mist of water. While it was drying I cut a frame using some Tonic Studios dies. When itwas totally dry, ie the next day I coloured in the leaves with Spectrum Noir pencils to make them stand out a bit more. Two butterflies from SU Papillon Potpourri set stamped with the same two inks and Wink of Stella'd, and a sentiment and the card was complete. I hope to see you all joining in at Make My Monday.

Pretty and Pearly at Cardz for Galz

Time once again for the new challenge at Cardz for Galz with a very feminine theme, Pretty and Pearly. I dug out  some NBUS stamps and dies to use. I thought the Orchid Builder set was so pretty when Stampin' Up! brought it out, that I just had to have it and it has sat unused ever since!

I used Raspberry Ripple and Mossy Meadow inks, with some Raspberry Ripple card.  I added some teeny pearls to the centres of the flowers. Do go and check out the rest of the DT's makes for some fab inspiration.

Father's Day at Cards for Guyz

We're coming up to Father's Day here in the UK and that is our current challenge at Cardz for Guyz.
I don't often make a card for it unless it is a DT card as I lost my Dad fourteen years ago.
However I made this one with Roy in mind, hence the owl, as they are one of the many things he has collected over the years. I'll see if his daughter wants to use it!

The owl and background paper is from a Making Cards CD, and the sentiment was created in Craft Artist. The pieces of card are all snippets, although the pile never seems to get any smaller! I fussy cut the owl out and glossy accented his eyes. Make sure to check out the rest of the DT's work.
I'm also going to take this across to the Playground
