Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries

Welcome to a new challenge at Make My Monday. This time we want to see fruit and or vegetables on your card. It's that time of year when pumpkins feature heavily on cards so I wanted to use something different as I had done a pumpkin and apples for earlier challenges. After a bit of thought I remembered this old SU stamp.

I coloured it in with Promarkers and found a snippet of matching card for the mat.  Do pop over and see what fruit and veg the rest of the team have used.

Shades of Brown

The new challenge at Cardz for Galz is "Shades of Brown". My first thought was how can I make a brown card girly? Then I remembered a Christmas stamp that was lurking in my NBUS stash which would be perfect in brown.

I stamped the image in Chocolate Chip then inked all the edges. I inked the mat with the same ink and added a crumb cake ribbon and bow before mounting on a white card blank. Lots of glitter added to the snowy bits as well. Do check out the challenge blog and the rest of the ispiration.

Spooky!

I'm really not big on Halloween and tend to only make cards if I need to for my DT work, then my grandsons get them. As a result I have very little halloween stuff in my stash so I went shopping for a digi stamp for this card at Bugaboo.

I printed it out on photo paper then used a new to me technique. I smooshed some Distress Oxide inks onto my craft mat, fossilised amber, faded jeans and wilted violet, then using each colour separately wiped the card through it till I was happy with the coverage. The black image then loked very odd but some wiping with a baby wipe, brightened the inks up and cleaned the printed image.  I was o pleased with it I made another!

Love this technique! I seem to remember from years ago that Debbie Moore did something called Print Magic which embossed printed images so Im off to see if I can find some as I think that would make the images stand out even better.Hope you can join us at Cardz for Guyz with your spooky cards.

Twinkle! Twinkle!

I hope you are all getting ahead with your Christmas cards, if not then here's your chance to get started. This month's Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge starts today.

I went with the option of Twinkle for my card.

I cut the die, which is from The Works, out of red glitter paper and backed it with silver glitter card. So lots of twinkle there. It didn't look right just added to a white card blank, or red,or black or Kraft, so found some Christmassy paper which looked better, but I still dont really like it. It's definitely not how it looked in my head!
There's some fab makes from my teamies so do hop over to the challenge blog to check them out and join in with us.

Botanical for Happy Little Stampers

It's the start of the month so time for the first of the monthly challenges at Happy Little Stampers.

I always to try to make my DT card with the option if possible and this gave me the opportunity to use a new stamp from Woodware called Flower Garden.

I stamped the image with Gina K amalgam ink which is suitable for both watercolouring and alcohol markers. To colour it I used some watercolour crayons that have been languishing unused in a drawer. No sentiment as I don't know what I'm going to use it for yet, but I think it will make a nice birthday card. I had to add a small die cut dragonfly as I managed to smudge the ink!

Autumn at Make My Monday

Hello and welcome to a new week and a new challenge at Make My Monday and we would like you to make something with an autumnal feel.

I've been trying to use up some of my previously stamped but unused bits. This one is a digi stamp that I had coloured quite a long time ago. I'm sorry I can't remember what company it's from.

I found two 6x6 papers that went with it and decided to have one at a jaunty angle for a change! Go check out what my teamies have made.

Rudolph Day September

Rudolph Day is here again! Only two more to go! I was a bit short of time this month so was looking for something quick to make, and found this stamped image in my box of bits.

The stamp is from Clarity Stamps and is stamped and embossed in white. The stockings are coloured with sparkle pens. Some candy finished it off.

Pretty Bows

It's timefor the new challenge at Cardz for Galz and we would like to see Pretty Bows on your cards.Although I have loads of ribbon I rarely use it on my cards and today is no exception, but I have used bows - paper ones!

I used a SU punch to make the bows out of a snippet of pretty paper that I've had for ages, and mounted them onto a white mat . The orange mat was a piece of the same paper, and inked round the edges of both with Spiced Marmalade. The mats were cut with a Penny Black die. Can't  wait to see what you make.

Trees and Leaves

I can't believe how fast this month is going, here we are over half way through September already, and it's time for another challenge at Cardz for Guyz. There's lots of autumn themed challenges around and this one is noe exception, as we want to see trees and or leaves on your card.

When I was sorting out my box of pre stamped part made bits I came across this topper that I had foiled.

I used , copper gold, green and red foil . In real life it is very pretty. I mounted it on copper and then gold mirri card, which looks a bit like tortoiseshell in the photo!

I took this one to try to show the shine.

There's a whole heap of inspiration on the challenge blog, so why not pop over and have a look.

Pretty Flowers!

The challenge at Make My Monday is a colour challenge. We'd like you to use these colours to make your card . You can also use neutrals. I thought the roses lookes so pretty I went with a floral card.

I was wanting to use my new dies from Tim Holtz that have been sitting on my desk for a few weeks, lorals 3 and Garden Greens.

I cut all the flowers out in each of the pinks, then played around with different combinations as I put them together. The frames are a Julie Hickey set of dies. It's not often I use dies as the focal part of my card but I really like how this one turned out.
