Of course despite the huge amount of stash I've got I could only find one very small silhouette stamp. I did do a web search for a digital stamp but could only find old men or very cute little boys playing. Neither were suitable fpr a 14 going on 18 year old!<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

After getting back from our cruise I became treasurer of The Fleet Art Society just as they were due to hold their winter exhibition. The hand over took a while as the guy showing me went over everything a number of times! Then the exhibition was on for five days and I had christmas presents to buy, cards to write, cakes to bake! </p><p style="text-align: center;">So here are two snow family cards, which have also used up some of my stash of 6x6 papers,<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Not sure where this year has gone. My cards this time are a little different for me.<br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The first one I did was the HOHOHO one so it is a bit raggedy! A new blade in the craft knife helped with the others though. I had to wait for Amazon to send some as I can't buy blades locally only the knife! I've still got another four to make, but they will be for next year. If you've been wondering where I've been between last month's Rudolph Day and this one I was off on another cruise. This time to warmer climes even though it wasn't very sunny.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Roy;s great niece is obsessed with unicorns, so I went looking for unicorn stamps and found these sweet ones from Lawn Fawn. I decided to make two cards while I had them out as the little girl next door is 4 later this month. <br /></p><p style="text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI3Q2eUZk5zgeHEpOGGp8doig2Ov5LUc84SpDktf6HK5oXSsLwQVpwuaM0eRjSCUL14fZDR174a2FKeI-oQcryHPortAzpCuboH1g8rC4obRZM2-TnZ1c7uIjMCfU98RsS9EEpuRL5kghb5S7h6GCfNTDGBsKw9VCyK75z0iAg1niZW7JuuOCSYNERHNw/s3345/IMG_4872.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3345" data-original-width="2308" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI3Q2eUZk5zgeHEpOGGp8doig2Ov5LUc84SpDktf6HK5oXSsLwQVpwuaM0eRjSCUL14fZDR174a2FKeI-oQcryHPortAzpCuboH1g8rC4obRZM2-TnZ1c7uIjMCfU98RsS9EEpuRL5kghb5S7h6GCfNTDGBsKw9VCyK75z0iAg1niZW7JuuOCSYNERHNw/w276-h400/IMG_4872.jpg" width="276" /></a></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I used some lightish blue card from the snippets box and stencilled some darker blue "clouds"as a background. The unicorns, fairies cake and clouds were all stamped on snippets of white card and fussy cut before being arranged. Some glitter stars added to one and the fairies' wings were also glittered.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Challenges:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://pixiessnippetsplayground.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Snippets Playground</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://happylittlestampers.blogspot.com/search/label/Birthday%20Challenge?m=0" target="_blank">Happy Little Stampers Birthday Challenge</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://mynbus.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">NBUS</a> <br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYkW11Za8X4NxFzG95H2lhCgCQBtHPUhT5LRFoZ4_4beAqVanTnuK1SE7CRLADSpccw4If4kiB8s8VQLNvs9KfeNWWOE_txG5QJLzOidEReOsPf-E9X2Rx0mulS4rWH9S_uzkamnHcYn4/s1600/blog+signature.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYkW11Za8X4NxFzG95H2lhCgCQBtHPUhT5LRFoZ4_4beAqVanTnuK1SE7CRLADSpccw4If4kiB8s8VQLNvs9KfeNWWOE_txG5QJLzOidEReOsPf-E9X2Rx0mulS4rWH9S_uzkamnHcYn4/s1600/blog+signature.png" /></a></div>

All the cards I had seen using it were so pretty I decided to show it some love and ink. The first six attempts went in the bin! I was using markers to colour the stamp but it either didn't stamp properly or was too dark. Spritzing it with water was also a disaster. Eventually I turned to Youtube for some hints.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_i9OckRKk2VLSB8UcuEo1S1eXxlNPyCh6VPDJjw9PhPsNhE3Fbk7NRbcIm8rlCrNbsJCblw1qnjo_OHygk-hCTeAvU4Mdzype7XUrTKR95tN68tp34_L29VwkHDOPYjdwYKvYbnRc14Yv6EoPS0S8-WdppgK8dueOOP6BAqDkKWcvGspn7s-LVL23Sek/s2904/IMG_4875.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2861" data-original-width="2904" height="315" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_i9OckRKk2VLSB8UcuEo1S1eXxlNPyCh6VPDJjw9PhPsNhE3Fbk7NRbcIm8rlCrNbsJCblw1qnjo_OHygk-hCTeAvU4Mdzype7XUrTKR95tN68tp34_L29VwkHDOPYjdwYKvYbnRc14Yv6EoPS0S8-WdppgK8dueOOP6BAqDkKWcvGspn7s-LVL23Sek/s320/IMG_4875.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So this one was inked with Distress Inks then some painting added on top. I used some Hot Press Watercolour paper which is why it is creamy. I wasn't convinced that the stamp was stamping properly so I made a second card using just one colour.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSqH4LASraw_A7TJyTo3tZbsQdn0ykqBtbBX1p-P3B9xKsm28GgI4k9Y17zTooqUhdvSB_luXpxAHyBIaVg7VbDs_Ocky8TQtyiOqnhosBgClmHdNoBi3wAzeHw1pyB2fQqCbI_bBrDeS3i49wmT-9qYs1mTTOJzqSfZ-kIYnyM8JfxgXbSvH85C-r_hY/s2958/IMG_4874.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

It's only taken me eight months to get round to it!</p><p style="text-align: center;">It was surprisingly easy. The hardest part was deciding how to decorate it. It was for a special blog friend's birthday, who I am fairly certain is very fond of purple.<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It was also a bit of an experiment. I originally intended it to be no line colouring using coloured pencils. It started off quite well and I really liked the effect the pencils had on the textured card. However, I soon gave up on the no line colouring as the stamp is quite small and I couldn't see the lines. Fortunately I had used the Misti and still had the stamp attached so I was able to restamp with black.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

He is very keen on football so this image from Dr Digi was perfect for him.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The image was coloured with Copics. I used red and blue because I like them together and I wasn't sure what team he supported anyway! This time it's for my youngest son. I usually try to do one that relates to his interests - at the moment it is only mountain biking and I've totally run out of ideas. I've been making them for about the last four or five years! </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The first one is Roy's. As many of you will know he is a keen collector of model soldiers, so when I came across this stamp from Picture This last year I had to buy it, and had been waiting to ink it ever since. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDS06gMhj-mB3dJckeISP3izmssfuVlv8ijlshFVA7i7um3DZCxTWbgZ8ccg79aUYwzabiE2fjA_U5voB9jWu7FGvWTfPRvG96G_-P0fEXSitt8tHUxRWSb3cvFi17jYeJoJB-SJSFYVT7CzZ-tpVtTmB49_Fr-GM867anIQx1J4MlyK7a_8xl5eO-/s3544/IMG_4183.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3544" data-original-width="2658" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDS06gMhj-mB3dJckeISP3izmssfuVlv8ijlshFVA7i7um3DZCxTWbgZ8ccg79aUYwzabiE2fjA_U5voB9jWu7FGvWTfPRvG96G_-P0fEXSitt8tHUxRWSb3cvFi17jYeJoJB-SJSFYVT7CzZ-tpVtTmB49_Fr-GM867anIQx1J4MlyK7a_8xl5eO-/s320/IMG_4183.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>I coloured him with a mix of Copics and Promarkers then fussy cut him out. The background is made up of snippets of scrapbooking paper. I thought the stripy one looked a bit regimental! The sentiment strip is computer generated as I added his old Regimental cap badge to either side. I'm pleases to say it was very well received.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Challenges:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://mynbus.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">NBUS</a> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://pixiessnippetsplayground.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Snippets Playgound</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://happylittlestampers.blogspot.com/search/label/Birthday%20Challenge?m=0" target="_blank">Happy Little Stampers Birthday Challenge</a><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYkW11Za8X4NxFzG95H2lhCgCQBtHPUhT5LRFoZ4_4beAqVanTnuK1SE7CRLADSpccw4If4kiB8s8VQLNvs9KfeNWWOE_txG5QJLzOidEReOsPf-E9X2Rx0mulS4rWH9S_uzkamnHcYn4/s1600/blog+signature.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYkW11Za8X4NxFzG95H2lhCgCQBtHPUhT5LRFoZ4_4beAqVanTnuK1SE7CRLADSpccw4If4kiB8s8VQLNvs9KfeNWWOE_txG5QJLzOidEReOsPf-E9X2Rx0mulS4rWH9S_uzkamnHcYn4/s1600/blog+signature.png" /></a></div>
