Blue Birthday!

Earlier this month it was my youngest son's birthday. How can my baby possibly be 40!! Obviously I had to make a card which marked the occasion, much to his disgust!

After much thought for a suitable theme for him, which resulted in nothing, and hours spent on Pinterest,  I ended up with balloons and blue glitter paper. This week Allsorts challenge has chosen the perfect theme for it.  The balloons and number were all cut from snippets. I don't think I've actually got any complete sheets of glitter paper any more.

Birthday Salute!

Recently it was Roy's birthday and as he is still very miltary minded , even though he has been out of the army getting on for forty years, I thought that Cpl Clegg from Dr Digi was very appropriate.

I coloured him with pencils and added some gold paint for the buttons and end of the pace stick, and glossy accents for the boots. The background paper is a 6x6 sheet from my stash, which I thought made a nice frame, matted onto a piece of Sahara Sand card.

New Job

No posts from me for ages, then two in three days! One of my sons changed his job last year and this is the card I made for him. It's been sitting in my drafts since I made, it waiting for me to blog it, and today's the day!

I used large letter dies from Stamping Up and snippets of cardstock in different shades of blue for the letters and mat.

March Rudolph Day

This month seems to have flown by. I seem to have been very busy but not sure with what! Certainly very little carmaking or indeed any sort of crafting. Although I suppose I could class painting Roy's very small military miniatures ass crafting!

Anyway I did manage a card for Rudolph Day. I used a very old Dufex decoupage sheet. I've still got one or two left which are about to get used up. It was also just the right size for me to use up another old stash item - an aperture card.

Copper Anniversary

It was our seventh wedding anniversary towards the end of last year and apparently that is copper. This is the card I made for hubby, using copper card and seven hearts. Needless to say I had to point all that out to him! Men!!

The large heart was a freebie die from a magazine quite some time ago, the little hearts were punched out using the Stampin Up owl punch.

New Rudolph Day

Hello and welcome to Rudolph Day! I'm delighted that Helen Nile has taken up the mantle now that Maureen has 'retired' so that the Rudolph Day challenge can continue.

My card this month is a Woodware stamp coloured with Copics and cut out with a scalloped die which I think is a Crealie one. Image and sentiment both on scraps of white card. I mounted it onto a scrap of dark blue card and embossed the card blank with the Stampin Up falling snow embossing folder.

Rugby Birthday

It is my youngest grandson's birthday next month and his current passion is rugby. Of course despite the huge amount of stash I've got I could only find one very small silhouette stamp. I did do a web search for a digital stamp but could only find old men or very cute little boys playing. Neither were suitable fpr a 14 going on 18 year old!

Fortunately Craft Artist came to the rescue with some rugby balls. The writing, background  and balls were all created digitally with extra ballsfor the decoupage. My very small stamp went in the middle. Matted it onto blue mirri card then a white card blank.

Snowy

I'm still in Christmas card mode!  Two Snowy cards for you today! I do love this cute snowman.

The paper was a freebie from a magazine absolutely ages ago! The second one is also using up some of the peeloffs from my stash. The pile doesn't seem to go down though!

House Mouse For Rudolph Day

I'm just managing to squeeze into the last Rudolph Day challenge by the skin of my teeth. Sadly Maureen has decided to close the blog due to health issues. Thank you Maureen for keeping it going for so long and all the best for your "challenge retirement".

I decided to use a House Mouse stamp that hasn't seen a lot of ink since I bought it.

The paper was a freebie from years ago but I thought it went well with the stamp. I edged it with some even older peel off borders. I'm on aa bit of a mission to use up some of my stash.

Silhouette Snowy Forest

Have you missed me? Not sure where all the time has gone , but it is nearly a month since I blogged, crafted or painted anything.
It might be January but Christmas cards are still being made!  Maybe I won't have to make so many in a rush later this year.

I used a very old stamp for this one, it must have been one of my very early stamp purchases and I have no idea what the make is, as I removed it from its wooden block!  That has made it much easier to get coverage as I can use the Misti. I added some snowflakes in the top corner as it looked a bit naked!
