Winter Foliage at Make My Monday

The new challenge at Make My Monday is Winter Foliage. I had been going through my box of papers and decoupage to send some to a friend's little girl who has just started cardmaking, and I came across this pretty piece of holly.

So a very quick and easy card for you today. I mounted the decoupage onto a red circle. The card blank was embossed with a Sizzix EF which was too short so i did the top and then the bottom, matching it up in the centre.

Don't forget to check out all my teamies makes.

Pumpkins!

It's that time of year when there's lots of pumpkins in the shops, and that is what Janis has chosen for the new challenge at Cardz for Galz.  As i don't have any stamps of pumpkins I went digi shopping and bought this lovely design from Mo's Digital Pencil.

She also has a very useful practice sheet for colouring them. I coloured them with Copics and then added a few splatters with my spritzer thing that blows ink from the pen. I aslo used up another of my 6 x 6 papers. I wish I could say that the pile was reducing but it isn't.

As always please remember to check out the rest of the DT's makes.

Winter Blues

It's time for Winter Blues at Cardz for Guyz, the colour that is, not the miseries! I stamped the three smaller snowflakes from Happy Little Stampers Let it Snow in three different shades of blue onto a piece of white card.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment on vellum and wrapped it round the panel, which was mounted onto a piece of blue holographic card, then onto a 5 x 7 card blank. I think I might make a few more of these!

I used a recent freebie magazine stamp. It needed staming a few times to get a clear image, but that was no problem with the Misti. I had to clear emboss the white one as the ink did not want to dry on the textured card.

So two more made! Don't forget there's lots of inspiration over on the challenge blog.

Happy Little Stampers Watrcolour Challenge

It's time for the first of the Happy Little Stampers challenges for November. As always it is Anything Goes with an optional twist, and this month it's Get Well.

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.
IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER, YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!

I wnted to use a digistamp that I got a little while ago from Bugaboo, so printed it out on some Bristol board but the ink smudged as soon as I added the watercolour, the second one I left overnight but it still smudged. Watercolour paper would not go through the printer and my Stampin Up card bubbles with water, then I has a brainwave. If the ink wasn't drying on the Bristol board I could emboss it, and it worked.
I coloured my dragon with Zigs in Welsh dragon colours, cut it out with L'il Inkers stitched square dies and affset it onto a red mat, before putting it on a green plaid background.

I'm looking forward to seeing all your entries!

Stencil Stories

Nandini has chosen this fortnight's challenge at Make My Monday. It is to use stencil techniques for either the background or main image on your project.  A couple of year's ago the faux parchment technique was very popular, and I made quite a few cards using the technique on Kraft card. I decide to try it on dark blue this time.

I added white shimmer paint to the cabin and trees, then topped it with glitter. After all you can't have too much glitter at Christmas can you?

Do pop over to see all the other fab inspiration from my fellow teammates.

Victorian Christmas and Rudolph day

Helen has chosen this week's challenge of Let's go Digital at Cardz 4 Galz. It gave me the opportunity to use a new CD, Victorian Christmas,  from Joanna Sheen that I got as a free gift recently.
I printed off the sheet of designs and used the largest, which I mounted onto a piece of blue card stock.I had some matching ribbon which I eventually tied into a reasonable looking bow. The branches of the tree were glittered and I added a diecut sprig of holly for interest. As it is Rudolph Day as well I'm entering this into Scrappy Mo's challenge.

Into the Woods

The challenge for the next two weeks at Cardz for Guyz is Into the Woods. We want to see anything you might find in the woods on your cards, but they MUST be male orientated. As I have realised my Christmas card stash is seriously not enough I went for the Christmas option.

I sponged white ink on some Kraft card but it just seemed to soak in, some Tim Holtz dies and a small sentiment out of my odds and ends box.

I look forward to seeing your masvuline makes!

Harvest!

The Twofer challenge is Harvest, so I will have to thank Darnell for enabling me to increase my stamp stash! After going through every stamp and die I possess I came to the conclusion that I would not be able to join in unless I went shopping. So I did! And I am now the proud owner of two stamps and a die that fir the theme. However I have only used one of the stamps.

My first card is a one layer card with the stamp, from HeroArts, and the sentiment,  simply stamped in black and clear embossed.

My second card is a bit brighter. I stamped randomly in two shades of yellow along the bottom of a panel of card. The sentiment, from Uniko is in Soft Suede and the butterflies were cut out of a piece of cardwhere I had been playing with brushos.

And here they are together.

I'll be back on Tuesday with my card for Cardz 4 Guyz.

Wedding Anniversary

I have a very simple anniversary card for you today. A white oval matted onto silver and stamped with an SU stamp. I really like these numbers and now with the Mist, it's really easy to line them up.

Two swirly scribble hearts in pink and blue were thefinishing touch. Apart from the card blank, it was all made out of snippets so I'm off to the Playground.
