I'm a "darling" and Patchwork!

I was just so excited to see that my card here has been chosen bu Erna as a Dynamic Duos darling! Thank you so much Erna!!

Onto today's card. My scrap box is getting over full so decided to try a technique I had seen in blogland. I punched some scraps of patterned paper with the scallop square punch and stuck them to a piece of Calypso Coral card (another scrap but a larger one). I then embossed it with the fancy fan folder which sort of blended it all together. Another couple of scraps used  for the sentiment.

The ribbon wasn't a scrap! The whole thing then mounted onto a cream square card.  The scrap box is still overflowing though! I am taking this over to Pixie's playground. It will be my first visit there but probably not my last!

  1. Welcome Sue! The Playground is wet right now but I reckon the little horrors are huddled up in the treehouse cooking up mischief!

LOVE this card - the embossing after layering card snippets onto a background works brilliantly, must try that one.

Hope to see you again :)

  2. Just spotted, you're in Hampshire - me too.

  3. Wahoooooo Sue, I'm just North of Basingstoke in Hatch Warren, just off Junction 7 (the Dummer turning) of the M3 :)

    Small world! Di xx

  4. Great card, Sue and you were able to use quite a few snippets and make a new friend! A very lovely day!

  5. Hi Sue, love your patchwork card, embossing after layering gives your card a lovely quilted look, fantastic colours in your snippets too :) Cathy x

  6. This is a great technique and a fabulous way to use up your snippets.

New girl on the block eh? We'll look after you good n proper. You'll find some of us in the treehouse . . . although one of my little playmates has SNOW and is threatening a snowball fight . . . so look out!

  7. Hello Sue, this is such a good idea for using up snippets - I think the embossing makes quite a difference, making it almost look like real patchwork. It seems that no matter how many snippets, leftovers and scraps are used there is still always heaps left - I think they breed in the night :) Elizabeth xx

  8. Embossing after adding your opunched snippets is a great idea. Your card is lovely and the ribbon is so matches the colour in the paper!!!

  9. A beautiful card Sue, and a brilliant way to use snippets.
    Hello from the Playground.

  10. Great and beautiful way to use scraps up and love the way that the embossing brings it all together!x

  11. Congrats on your DD mention!! This is really a cute card with those dsp scalloped squares! Love the colors too!
