Santa Selfie

I'm slowly working my way through a small portion of my NBUS mountain! I had used one of the stamps from this set before, but not this one.

I coloured it with Copics and also the small mat it is sitting on. Originally I was going to use a plain card blank but it just looked too bare. Background paper didn't look right either. Then whilst I was browsing blogs and Pinterest I saw some cards with embossing on and I had a lightbulb moment! It is ages since I used one so it was high time to get them out. I think I might have used it before but not sure!

Make My Monday - Embossing

Welcome to a new challenge at Make My Monday and this time we would like to see embossing on your makes, either dry or heat. I'm not really very happy with this but didn't have time to start again.

I put some Worn Lipstick and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxides onto my craft sheet, misted with water then smooshed the card across to make the background, and the sentiment panel. I heat embossed the buterflies and sentiment with gold embossing powder then coloured in the butterflies with the same colour distress markers. But they looked much too sugary so went over the pink with Fired Brick, then mounted everything onto some pale pink card. Lots of inspiration on the challenge blog so why not hop over and have a look and join in.

Make My Monday In the Garden

The weeks are really going by much too fast! It seems to be no time since the last Make My Monday challenge and it's already time for a new one! This time Caz has chosen "In the Garden"

I used a freebie stamp set and embossing folder. I was very tempted to leave the embossed panel white as it was a really crisp image. But decided to ink it and hopefully give it a summery feel, especially as it was very damp and grey while I was making it. I sponged DI Mustard seed all over it, then daubed some Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint on the flowers and leaves. The sentiment and beed were stamped in  Versafine Onyx Black. A black mat and some green twine finished it off.

Do hope you'll be able to join in with is this week.

Embossed Birthday

I hope you have all had a good Easter weekend, but it's not over yet we still have today to enjoy!  It's time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and Silvi has chosen Embossing, hot or dry!

When Uniko released this stamp I had to have it as I thought it would be great for all sorts of birthdays, especially male ones, and I though it was perfect for this challenge. I stamped it in black and clear embossed it, then added some colour with Copics. I double mounted it onto black and red card before adding it to a white card blank.

I do hope you'll try and join in and if you need more inspiration head on over to the challenge blog where the rest of the DT have some lovely creations for you.

Rudolph Day

Well goodness time does fly past as its time for Rudolph Day again over at Scrappy Mo's. Here is my card.

I used a new Christmas embossing folder from Sheena Douglass, brayered over it very gently with Versamark then embossed with WOW embossing powder. I think I need a bit more practise at the technique as I got some ink in the middle of the leaves.

It's time for another Roy update - he's now walking unaided and is getting a little bit of use back into his right hand. That will be an ongoing process for about a year as all the nerves were damaged. The even better news is that they are hoping to do a home visit in the next two weeks to see what help he will need and all being well they think he should be home by the end of August. I can't wait!

Make My Monday - Tags and Toppers

This week the theme at Make My Monday is Tags and Toppers. I used Mossy Meadow and Wisteria Wonder as my colours but I'm afraid it hasn't photo'd very well. The embossed layer is vellum which was in my snippets box along with the white and wisteria wonder Iused for the tag. So I'm going to take this over to the Playground. I didn't manage to get there last week for a go on the swings!  Don't forget to visit the rest of the DT for some great inspiration. The ribbon was also out of my stash and I think came from an old Anna Griffin kit.

Wedding Card

I haven't blogged for a while or made any cards as we have just spent a lovely week in Jersey. Even the weather was kind - one thunderstorm the night we arrived then the rest of the week was mostly sunny and reasonably warm. Back to reality again and I had to make a wedding card for next week but inspiration was lacking . Eventually decided to stick to something simple and this is what I made.

I embossed some white card with a Cuttlebug folder added white satin ribbon and pearls and matted it onto silver card then a white card blank. The tag was a nestie edged with a silver Krylon pen and the sentiment is a peel off.

Stamping on patterned paper

These two cards were made using the same idea. Very quick and easy to make. I used some patterned paper that came from the Graphicus Guild and then stamped and embossed the image. All the stamps were from Elusive Images. The bird was stamped with Versamark and gold embossed and the tree stamped with black and clear embossed. Very easy but I think quite effective.

Happy New Year (Belated!!)

Happy New Year to everyone. I can't believe that we are already half way through January! I've been a bit lax at posting since Christmas but it has been due to various nasty bugs that have been doing the rounds. Here are some recent cards.

These two were made using up some left over bits on the craft table.

This one is an image from Card Creations Art Deco cd decoupaged onto black glitter paper on a peach pearlescent card.

I made this one for the January challenge on Crafty Cow forum. The theme was to use mainly green and a stamped image. I made the background using Twinkling H2Os on some glossy card then stamped and embossed some flowers.

Another Crafty Cow challenge card - this time following a sketch.
