HLS Stencil June

And now it's time for the fourth Happy Little Stampers challenge for June - Stencils. As I'm sure you will have realised by now this is my last DT card for the challenge. It is as ever Anything Goes.

I used a Clarity stencil which is definitely one of my many NBUS items. I sponged over it with Distress Inks. I added two bees from a freebie set of stamps.

The sentiment is stamped on a strip of inked card that was trimmed off the stencilled piece. Lots of inspiration on the challenge blog so do head over there and have a look.

HLS Stencil May

It's time now for the HLS stencil challenge for May.

As always it is Anything Goes which gives you plenty of scope. I  have to say I always find ATG hard as I have to think up a theme for myself. This time I drew inspiration from a small canvas hich I made a number of years ago and is on my craft room wall. So I dug out the Clarity stencil I had used and a Lavinia Stamps one for the background.

I brushed the background with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink then used gold embossing paste through the Clarity Stencil. It had to be gold as my others had dried up through old age! No sentiment until I know what I'm going to use it for.
Do check out the rest of the DT makes and hope to see you in the gallery.

HLS Stencil April

Oops! I scheduled the wrong time for this post, so it’s a little bit late! I’m blaming the medication for brain fog!

Welcome to the fourth of this month's challenges at Happy Little Stampers., the Stencil challenge.

I recently did one of Eileen Godwin's workshops on Facebook and afterwards made this card as a more simplified version, but using the same techniques.

To start I smooshed Distress Oxides onto a craft mat sprayed with water and mopped up with the card, repeating with different colours until I was happy with the result. Then sponged through a Tracy Scott stencil with Versafine Clair ink.  Some gold pen scribbling round the petals and a sentiment added completed the card.
Do check out all the inspiration on the challenge blog.

HLS Stencil Challenge

Welcome back to another HLS Stencil Challenge.

As always it is anything goes. I have used a stencil from Uniko that has been sitting in my stash foor sometime.

I used various distresss oxides to ink through the stencil. The sentiment is from a large slimline set from Simon Says Stamp. Another fairly simple and quick card. Do try to join us and check out the rest of the makes on the challenge blog as well

HLS Stencil Challenge

I am delighted to now be part of the Happy Little Stampers Stencil team. This is my first card for the challenge which is Anything Goes.

I pulled out a Clarity Stamp stencil which I think I've only ever used once before. I sponged in Speckled Egg and Tattered Rose distress inks. Then I wished I'd used something a bit brighter! But after a rummage through my Clarity stamps I found these two, both unused!

After a bit of trial and error on some scrap paper I finally settled on using Versafine Clair Purple Delight for stamping. I added a mat of matching purple metallic card and some rhinestones to finish it off.Once finished it looked better than I thought it was going to, but I still wish I'd used brighter colours for the stencilling.
I hope you'll join in the fun this month and check out all the inspiration from my fellow team mates.

Perfectly Cas january

Welcome back to our first challenge of the year at Perfectly CAS and the theme is to use stencils.

Back in November I did an online workshop with Eileen Godwin which involved stencils. You can see the cards I made for it  here. So while I still had the stencils, inks and stamps out I made a cas card for this challenge.

Remember to make sure your card only uses 1/3 of the card space, and check out the fabulous makes from the rest of the team.

Absolutely abstract

I’m about to do another of Eileen Godwin’s online workshops so thought it was time I posted my makes from the last one!

These are the first two, both destined for a nephew and a niece later this year. We used Sweet Poppy stencils,Visible Image stamps and Distress inks. The numbers I used were from SU.

And there were the second two, again using the same stencils and different VI stamp sets. As the stencils and VI stamps we’re new to me I’m going to share at NBUS challenge.

Stencilled Bauble

After doing the workshop in yesterday's post I had another go at stencilling but this time used an old bauble stencil from Inylicious. I blended Tumbled Sky and Victorian Velver Distress Ink for the background.

The stamps were from Creative Stamping magazine. The card base is SU Lost Lagoon with a matchingbow to top off the bauble. I'm going to make this my second entry into Cas Christmas non traditional colours. Im also sharing at Sparkles Monthly Challenge.

Stencilling and Silhouettes

Last Saturday I did an online workhop with Eileen Godwn using Lavinia stamps and stencils.. I have wanted to do one of her worshops for a long time but they are too far away, so Covid has done me a favour! I had a great time making the four designs. The workshop samples were one layer cards but I made mine on a piece of card - just in case I messed up, which I did on two of them but I simply turned the card over and redid them. No wastage!

The following day I mounted them and turned them into cards.  I didn't have all the stencils or stamps so there is a bit of improvisation!

I will definitely be doing the next one in December.

Outlined Leaves

CAS Mix Up has a stencil challenge this month. I decided to join in as although I have a lot of stencils I rarely use them, so ir's maybe time to change that.

They are asking for stencil outlining.I found this stencil of leaves, (no idea of the make, but its blue and quite flimsy) and inked it with Distress Oxides, Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade. I outlined with a Chocolate Chip marker and also ran it down the edge of the panel. The sentiment is from Pinkfresh.

Stencil Stories

Nandini has chosen this fortnight's challenge at Make My Monday. It is to use stencil techniques for either the background or main image on your project.  A couple of year's ago the faux parchment technique was very popular, and I made quite a few cards using the technique on Kraft card. I decide to try it on dark blue this time.

I added white shimmer paint to the cabin and trees, then topped it with glitter. After all you can't have too much glitter at Christmas can you?

Do pop over to see all the other fab inspiration from my fellow teammates.

Seeing Stars!

I'm determined this year to enter a few more challenges. When Less is More first started I was a regular there, entering most weeks but just lately it has become very sporadic! So this week I have a card for it -yay! Mind you I made it on Monday and have only just found time to photograph and blog it.

The theme is "Dimennsion". I used embossing paste through a stencil and added a couple of embossed lines top and bottom to edge the panel. Then I added some colour by using a red copic on the stars. With hindsight I think I preferred it all white, but don't think it would have photograhed very well!
I'm also taking this to Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge where the key word is Stencil.

Clarity Stamp Challenge and Cas Mix Up

This month Clarity Stamp Challenge is asking for masking to be used. I decided to use the stencil that was the latest from the NDC, together with some stamps from previous months. there was lots of maskinf to make the hills and river and to have the girl sitting at the front. Originally I doodled round the circle but deidn't like it ao had to cut it off!
The "Dream" sentiment is heat embossed in white.

I'm also entering this into the CAS Mix up challenge who want stamping, stencilling and one other technique. Mine is the embossing and diecutting.
