Sunflower Pretty

I have set myself a task of using up some of the UFO's and bits and pieces lying on my desk, that I've got out then not used for whatever reason. This card has used up the LSS image I coloured to use here, but of course I had the original left over after scanning it and using it digitally.

The paper is from a Simon says monthly kit but can't remember which on, and the flowers are from my stash and recoloured with Copics as was the sentiment.I'm afraid the photo is rubbish as it was very dull when I took it. The colours IRL are much brighter. Papertake Weekly have an Anything Goes challenge this week so I'm entering it there.

Less is More - Winter Blues

It's a long time since I entered a Less is More challenge! The theme this week is Winter Blues! With the dreadful weather we've all been having it seems to be a bit too appropriate!

With that in mind I used a more spring like stamp. It is the current monthly club stamp from Little Claire's Designs. I decided not to colour it in but just use it stamped in Midnight Muse. I was trying to get the look of a Delft tile and have to say I'm quite pleased with the result. The mat was cut using a L'il Inkers die which has the effect of faux stitching round the edge, and the mounted on a scrap of Midnight Muse card. The ribbon was also a snippet- in fact it came off a Pandora gift bag and was  the perfect colour match. If you peel it off and turn it over you will see it has Pandora printed across it! Now you can guess what one of my Christmas presents was! So I'm  popping across to the Pixies Snippets playground  to see what everyone is up to and I'm also going to enter this into Papertake Weekly's challenge which this week is Anything Goes!

Merry Monday Snowman

Rumour has it that it's not long till Christmas - so time to make a real start on those Christmas cards. I have played on and off with the Merry Monday challenge during the year so have got a few made already!  This week the theme is to use a snowman and it just so happens that I had some new Lili of the Valley stamps on my desk and this snowman was among them.

I coloured him with copics then looked for a sketch to follow to make him into a card. Papertake Weekly challenge had just the sketch. After I'd finished the bottom strip just didn't look right so I added the white die cut border that was sitting in my snippets box. I'm still not entirely happy with it though, so just might have to change it a bit! Meanwile I;m entering it into the following challenges:

Cards for men

This is the card I have made for the current Little Claire's challenge which is "Cards for men". I have used a Little Claire's Designs stamp from the "RWAV- Tree" set, coloured with Copics and cut out with nesties. I edged the white nestie with a touch of DI in Antique Linen just to take away some of the whiteness. Some card candy provided the finishing touches.I am alos entering it into Papertake Weekly's challenge which is Dads and Lads.

Yellow Easter Elephant!

I've been making this card for about 4 days! Something always seems to interrupt! So I was determined to get it finished today and uploaded. The stamp is Little Claires, the papers from Ppaermania Capsule collection, flowers and ribbon from stash. I wanted to put some small yellow buttons in the middle of the flowers but can I find them anywhere? Nooo. So it had to be brads instead.

I'm entering it in the following challenges:

Little Claires - Animals
Papertake Weekly - Spots n' stripes

Spring Owl

The current Little Claire challenge is "Spring Celebrations" so I decided to use their April club stamp (even though that is the prize!) as I think it is a gorgeous stamp! I'm also going to enter it into this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge "Truly Dimensional". Now I have to tell you that despite what the photo looks like it really is dimensional. The front image panel across the gatefold is raised as is the owl and the flower.

First Scrapbook Page

The Simon Says Stamp Challenge this week is for anything but a card. I've been thinking about having a go at scrapbooking so have made my first page for the challenge using the sketch from Papertake Weekly challenge - so 2 in 1! Couldn't get a very good picture though - normally I scan my cards but obviously this is too big for that!

Tilda with Roses

I made this for the Crafty Cow forum challenge I set this month which was to use 1 stamped image, a piece of lace and some flowers. As I had just got this Tilda stamp I wanted to use that and the flowers fitted perfectly. I also used the sketch on the Papertake Weekly challenge. The papers were HOTP.

Albert

I'm going to be short of time this holiday weekend to make many cards. Garden maintenance calls! Just managed to do a quick one for the Pollycraft Challenge and Papertake Weekly - and that will have to be it for this week. I used a download from Pollycraft and K & Co papers.

Patchwork Elephant

The Simon Says Challenge has changed to weekly instead of fortnightly so had to get a move on this week The theme is "One for the Boys". Now the card I did last week would have fitted this perfectly but thought I'd better do another. I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday which fitted it nicely. The image is from Pollycrafts and also fits in with the challenge on Papertake Weekly which is to feature Animals - so three challenges in one- how cool is that! The papers are from Papermania and this is my first go at colouring with Copics.

Floral Display

This is the card I have made for this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge. I'm not very happy with it though as I feel it needs something but not sure what! The image is Floral Display from HobbyArt which I stamped with Kaleidacolour Autumn Leaves then clear embossed. The orange paper is from the Pack from Graphicus Guild. I finally plucked up courage to use some and not just look at it!

PS Decided it needed flowers so have added them to corners

Arty Girlz Last Challenge

I decided to make a card for last week's Papertake Challenge which was "feeling fruity". But left it to the last minute and managed to smudge the ink and didn't like the finished result anyway so didn't post it. Today I have pulled it to pieces and cut the strawberries out and made a completely new card for Arty Girlz Challenge. Theirs was one of the first ones I ever entered and although I haven't done any for a long time it is sad to see that this will be the last. The theme is "stamping". The strawberries are stamped with versafine onyx black, coloured with Whispers pens and finished with Glossy Accents. The strip of paper is DCWV. The stamp was a freebie with Craft Stamper magazine last year.

Hopefully they will come back with more challenges in the future.

PTW Sketch challenge

This is my design for this week's Papertake Weekly challenge sketch by Katherina. I have used a Rachel Anne Millar stamp - Lola with bunny. The papers are doll's house wallpaper which I found in a local charity shop. Thought they were rather nice and a bit different from the usual papers. The only trouble is they are rolled so was a bit more difficult cutting them.

At Last - A Card

I started out to make the Rainbow Lady's Tag challenge for last week, but only got as far as making the tag shape. I missed the timeframe so used it to do the Papertake Cool Yule challenge instead. What is it with all these Christmas challenges? I found it quite difficult to get my head round it as I'm really not into Christmas in July! Anyway here is the result. Not one of my best efforts I must say.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

This is the card I have made for Katherina's sketch on this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge. I must say this sketch taxed the brain cells a bit! I started off thinking I would use the fairy image on some very pale lemon card, but somewhere along the way it all became pink and aubergine! Don't ask me how!! The papers are HOTP Vintage papers and the stamp is from Trimcraft- one I bought yesterday on a visit to the Country Market at Kingsley where there is a Craft Central. We had really gone for the pick your own and garden centre. I did buy some plants for the garden as well though.

Tag Challenge Card

Loretta on Docrafts set two challenges for the Bank Holiday. She obviously thought we had nothing else to do other than craft! How right she was as the weather was soooo awful! The first challenge was for a card with tags. I eventually decided to use some Crate Cowgirl papers I had had in my stash for some time and just looked at - as you do! The result was something I wouldn't normally do as it is quite a busy card - but it is growing on me. I will add a sentiment on the bottom tag when I decide who or what it is for. The second challenge card is the one I used in earlier post for the Papertake Weekly Challenge.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - One for the Fella's!

Papertake Weekly's Challenge this week was for a man's card. "We have Fathers Day coming up, here in the UK so this weeks challenge is to make a mans card! The card can be for any occasion as long as it's for a man! lol" I used the sketch for the Docrafts bank holiday challenge as a guide. The papers are from HOTP, the "Take it Easy" stamp was a freebie on the last issue of Craft Stamper and the watch stamp is from Artifacts.
