Casology - Mini and LIM 213

I'm just squeezing in at the last minute to Casology where the theme is Mini. On Friday I went to the Make-It Show at Farnborough and amongst the goodies I brought home were three dinkie stamps from Little Claire, even better they were free with some paper stacks I bought! So here is a mini card - it only measures 10.5cm x 10.5 cms with a mini stamp!

I am also entering this to Less Is More where the ladies want us to make a card depicting something that makes us happy. Well my two cats do! I am also going to pay another visit to the Playground as its such a nice spring day here!

Casology - Rainbow

The cue word over at Casology this week is "Rainbow" which gave me the perfect opportunity to use this fun stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. It was part of one of their monthly kits and I haven't had the opportunity to play with it till now. So it comes under the heading of NBUS(never before used schtuff!) I coloured the crayons with copics but used SU markers on the word "colour".  I'm so pleased as well that SSS has included both the American and British spelling of "colour" in the set. I am also entering this into Simon Says Wednesday challenge which is Anything Goes and Addicted to Stamps and More which is also Anything Goes.

Bee!

The cue word this week at Casology is Bee so my first reaction was that I wouldn't join in as I didn't think I'd got anything with a bee on it. But when I was going through all my stamps looking for something else I came across an unopened packet of stamps that had come free with a magazine. No idea which one though but the packet said they were made by Pink Petticoat and in there was this cute bee! So problem solved!

The inside was simply stamped with "birthday". As the pink scallop was a snippet I'm also going to pay over at The Playground as well.

Flowers and Burlap

Some time ago I bought some flower and leaves dies from Creative Expressions and they have been sitting on my desk waiting to be played with. I also just bought a background burlap stamp made by Justrite . There are lots of challenges around blogland at the moment asking for flowers and I had an idea in my mind to use the burlap stamp with a flower strategically placed on top.  This is sort of what I set out to do but cut the background down, even though I really wanted the frayed edges showing but it was too big for what I wanted to do.

The sentiment doesn't show up enough so will be covered with a banner I think before I use the card. Originally this was going to be for Casology where the cue word is flowers and for Less is More where the theme last week was flowers (but I was too late), so how lucky is it that this week they want us to use dies and my flowers are dies - serendipity I think! And as the diecuts have used up some snippets I'm heading off to the Playground as well. I haven't been for a couple of weeks so it will be good to see what's going on there! It might have photographed better if it didn't match my wall!

Casology - Electric

I have followed the Casology challenge for some time but never entered for one reason or another. But when I saw the current challenge cue word was "electric" -

sorry no pun intended - I knew exactly what I wanted to use.

Last month's Simon Says Stamp kit was sitting by my desk, opened but unused and it had the perfect set of stamps in it. originally I was going to mat the layer onto yellow but it didn't look right, then I tried black, which was better, but preferred it with no mat. I should have stopped there but I doodled  some faux stitching round the edge and now I wish I hadn't. Sometimes less is very definitely the way to go! As Simon Says challenge is Anything Goes I'm also going to take this over there as well.
