Ballet Shoes

Ballet Shoes was one of my favourite books when I was a girl, even though I didn't dance.I remember going once to a dancing lesson but according to my parents I was more like a baby elephant! I'm still not a dancer! But when I saw The Library Challenge had it as their current challenge, I had to enter.

The dancer is from Sheepski Designs, coloured with Copics and the trellis work die from a recent Diecutting Essentials.

I'm also entering this at Make My Monday, even though I've just left the DT to spend more time travelling. Ha Ha all travelling on hold at the moment, and as I've used snippets for the trellis and dancer I'm off to the Playground to see what is going on behind the bike sheds.

"Birds"

I've decided that I need to step back from some of my design team work so this will be my last post as a member of the Make My Monday team. The theme is Critters ( birds insect, animals etc). I've been rummaging through some of my old stash and found a Joanna Sheen CD that I knew had lots of animals and birds on. The artist is Jayne Netley-Mayhew and there are some lovely images. I chose a rather nice bird one.

I used three of the images and mounted them onto coordinating coloured card. No sentiment as there wasn't really anywhere to put it, so it will be quite useful for a number of occasions.

Be sure to check out the challenge blog to see what other critters have been used.

I Heart You

Welcome back to the new challenge at Make My Monday. Wei has chosen I Heart You as the topic - just in time for Valentine's Day.

I tried out something new for this. A friend of mine did a papercutting workshop before Christmas and had made some lovely cards as a result. I decide to have a go and bought a template from Lucy Dorothy.
This is the finished card. It took a while to cut but it was quite enjoyable doing something different.

I hope you'll be able to join in with your heart cards.

A Glass Slipper!

It's my turn to choose the challenge for Make My Monday. After some thought I chose A Favourite Fairytale.
I think my card makes it clear which one I have chosen. The image is from Bugaboo which I printed out then coloured with Promarkers.

The shoe is also from Bugaboo, liberally covered with Glossy Accents to make it look like glass.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!

Anything but Square

Our first challenge of the year at Make My Monday is to make a card that is anything but square.

Now this card might look like a rectangle but the front is in fact a hexagon. I made it using a new set of dies from Paula Pascual called elongated hexagon. You get the basic card shape plus all the corner pieces ,smaller hexagons and trellis work insert.  The rhinestones, flower and leaves are very old stash. Don't forget to see what other shapes the DT have come up with.

Female Birthday

Welcome to the final challenge of 2019 at Make My Monday.

Hopefully by now you have all finished your Christmas cards so today we are having a birthday challenge. We would like to see your makes for a female birthday. I was running very short of time in the lead up to Christmas so I fished out some Hunkydory stuff that I think came in a magazine, and made a very quick and easy card.

There's nothing more I can say about it so I'll finish by withing you all a

Very Merry Christmas

Nutty but Nice!

Welcome to the new challenge at Make My Monday, a really easy one this week - "Christmas". I used an Art Impressions stamp set from the Stamptember range at SSS.

I stamped onto kraft card and colored with pencils. Some scraps of glittery ribbon and a sprig of gold holly finished it off.

I'm sure you're all well ahead with your Christmas cards, but if not, there's lots of inspiration on the challenge blog.

Christmas Vellum

The new challenge at Make My Monday is to use vellum. I knew I had some printed Christmas vellum but it took me a little while to find it, then I had to decide how to use it. All this took longer than making the card!

I finally decide on using just a wrap of the vellum and added some gold diecuts. There's lots more inspiration on the challenge blog so do go and check it out.

Red Green White

Silvi has chosen red, green and white for the new challenge at Make My Monday. I have used just diecuts for my card

The white mat is a Julia Hickey die and the rest of the diecuts are from a set of dies that came recently with Diecutting Essentials. I may well make a few more of these as they were fairly quick and easy to make and I still need a lot more Christmas cards.

Don't forget there's lots more ideas over on the challenge blog.

Poppies

The new challenge at Make My Monday is here. Just in time for Remembrance Day we would like to see poppies on your makes.

I have used a Penny Black stamp and clear embossed it. The flowers are coloured with H2Os which has given them a bit of a sheen. A narrow strip of black and white striped paper down the side added a bit of extra interest. Do make sure to check out all the inspiration on the challenge blog.

Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries

Welcome to a new challenge at Make My Monday. This time we want to see fruit and or vegetables on your card. It's that time of year when pumpkins feature heavily on cards so I wanted to use something different as I had done a pumpkin and apples for earlier challenges. After a bit of thought I remembered this old SU stamp.

I coloured it in with Promarkers and found a snippet of matching card for the mat.  Do pop over and see what fruit and veg the rest of the team have used.

Autumn at Make My Monday

Hello and welcome to a new week and a new challenge at Make My Monday and we would like you to make something with an autumnal feel.

I've been trying to use up some of my previously stamped but unused bits. This one is a digi stamp that I had coloured quite a long time ago. I'm sorry I can't remember what company it's from.

I found two 6x6 papers that went with it and decided to have one at a jaunty angle for a change! Go check out what my teamies have made.

Pretty Flowers!

The challenge at Make My Monday is a colour challenge. We'd like you to use these colours to make your card . You can also use neutrals. I thought the roses lookes so pretty I went with a floral card.

I was wanting to use my new dies from Tim Holtz that have been sitting on my desk for a few weeks, lorals 3 and Garden Greens.

I cut all the flowers out in each of the pinks, then played around with different combinations as I put them together. The frames are a Julie Hickey set of dies. It's not often I use dies as the focal part of my card but I really like how this one turned out.

Round and Round

It's time for another new challenge at Make My Monday and Dawn has challenged us to use shapes on our cards.

I've used my go-to stamp for this - Mix Mash from Happy Little Stampers, no longer available. When I first saw the set I didn't think I would use it much but I actually find it very useful!

Go see what other shapes the DT have used and maybe join in the fun as well.

Dance Like Nobody's watching!

It's my turn to choose the theme for the Make My Monday challenge and I have chosen "Dance" whch I think gives lots of opportunities.

I fell in love with the Shall We dance set of stamps and dies from Mama Elephant when I saw them on a card and had to have them.

I made an inky background for them to be dancing on, don't they look as though they are having fun?
I do hope you'll join in with the fun with us too.

Friendship

When I saw that the new challenge at Make My Monday was Friendship I knew exactly what stamp set I was going to use. It is a retired SU hostess set called Love you Lots. Up to now I had only used the pair of ladybirds on it.

This time I used the sweet hedgehogs. I stamped in Versafine Clair Acorn on some taupe card. Then added a touch of red to liven it up. It is much better in real life than it is in the photo! Hope you'll be able to join in with us.

For a Guy!

This time at Make My Monday we want to see your masculine makes. Papercraft Essentials recently included some Wallace and Gromit stamps, papers and toppers.  I made a point of getting hold of it as hubby is very keen on them.

For this card I used one of the toppers and some strips cut from on of the papers.  The orange and turquoise card is from my stash of snippets. There's lots of inspiration on the challenge blog so do pop over to have a look.

We are 100!

Well not literally, but we are at our 100th challenge at Make My Monday. A big thank you to everyone who has joined in and made the challenge a success. To that end we would like to see your thank you cards  this time.

I have used a die that I won ages ago at Pixies Playground, but I'm afraid I can't remember the make. I cut it out of white card mounted onto navy. The paper is a sheet from my over large stock of 6 x 6 papers. So it is now one sheet less! Do pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the DTs thank you cards, and hope to see you joining in.

Bam!

It's time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and the theme is "Something beginning with B" I'd just got a new set of stamps and dies from Uniko and was itching to use them so my card has veered away from the obvious butterflies, bees, birds etc.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and lots of bright colours.  Apart from the card blank, everything else was out of the snippets drawer so I'm hopping over to the Playground as well to see what's going on there! Don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the DT have made.

Diamonds!

It's my turn to host the challenge at Make My Monday and I have chosen Diamonds. I had seen some beautiful watercoloured images of crystals and diamonds, but even after watching numerous tutorials, my attempts left much to be desired.

So I went for an easier option and watercoloured them simply and added some lines with a white gel pen for the facet edges, and gave them a generous covering of Wink of Stella. The splatters were made with a stamp from the SU Gorgeous Gringe set. The diamonds and sentiment are from a Stamplorations set - Sparkly.
