More Cards In A Box

At card club last week I showed them how to make the Card in a Box. I cheated a bit and took the ones I was going to make all cut out ready so I only had to put them together. This is the first one, using Mixed Bunch and Flower Shop stamp sets, with the addition of a butterfly from Papillon Potpourri. and Label Love for the sentiment.

The second one is very similar, but just used Flower Shop for the flowers. The leaves for both  were cut using the owl builder punch.

The last one that night used non SU papers and an assortment of butterfliees from Papillon Potpourri and Best of Butterflies. The leaves were cut with Secret Garden framelits.

And here are all the ones I have made together except for the black and red one HERE, which has already been sent.

Right you can relax now - I don't intend making any more --- at least for a while!!

Card in a box!

I'm sure you've all seen these very popular cards in a box - they are all over blogland at the moment, so who am I not to join in! I'm actually going to show you the third one I made for one of Roy's colleagues. Apparently she was really impressed with her Christmas card which was black and silver(and according to Roy had red in it as well. I've no idea which one she got as I just gave him an assorted boxful. The only way it might have had red in it would have been Rudolph's nose). So he thought I should do the same for her birthday' even though I'd said she was getting a box card. I like to do the one's he gives at work all very similar, ie same stamp set, that way I know they won't get the same the following year! I had already started on the box cards - made two and prepped two to make at card club this week - but none met his criteria so I set to and made, what will be the last one, but first to be given.

I uses Secret Garden and Fabulous Florets for the flowers. The leaves are from Fabulous Florets and the Sizzlits Little Leaves die. It doesn't really show in the photo but the darker leaves were stamped in black then gone over with a Wink of Stella. The lighter leaves are actually silver shimmer card. The next photo shows the shimmer a bit better.

A Belated Happy New Year!!

First I'd like to wish you all a belated Happy New Year!

It won't be long now till Sale-a-bration starts and the newSpring/Summer catalogue goes live (Jan 28th!) There's lots of lovely new product to look forward to and with Sale-a- bration a free product for every £45 you spend. Yestreday I had a boxful of new goodies arrivw so that I could show some sneak peaks to tempt you!

What I am going to show you today was not what I had planned it just sort of happened! Next month is a friend's birthday - on Valentine's Day would you believe - we always exchange a token present - nothing very expensive but I always struggle with what to give her. It's too late for diaries and calendars, her house is always like a florists shop on her birthday and if she has given me smellies I don't feel that I can then give her some! So at Christmas we were given 6 boxes of champagne truffles from various friends and I decided to rehome one of the boxes but pretty it up first!

I set to to make a prototype but liked it so decided to just go with it. The base is cardstock and the lid is made from DSP- both took a 12 x 12 sheet. As it was a trial one I used retired paper. The flower is the sneak peak from the new catalogue and the label a Sale-a-bration sneak peak. The leaves were cut with the Secret Garden framelits. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and the ribbon is non SU
from my stash.

If I make another I think I would make the lid less deep.

You can order from my online shop at anytime  or email  if you prefer the personal touch .

Dynamic Duos and another Sneak Peak!

This week it a "subtle" colourway at Dynamic Duos and they have chosen So Saffron and Certainl Celery.

Easy I thought with a card in my mind! But easier said than done as none of my ideas seemed to work IRL! Anyway with little time to spare this is what I ended up with.

I have used the one of the new bundles from the Spring/Summer catalogue which is out on 1st February.

Cardstock: Whisper White, So Saffron
Ink: So Saffron, Certainly Celery
Stamp sets: Secret Garden, Bring on the Cake
