Beside the Sea

A lovely summer theme for the next two weeks at Cardz for Guyz, is "Beside the Sea".  I dug out some little used Hobby Art Scene It stamps and built up a little scene.

I had to do some masking of the boat and seagulls to colour the background. I used Adirondack Butterscotch, DI Faded Jeans and Tumbled Glass and SU Bermuda Bay, all applied with ink dusters. the wall was stamped in DI Walnut Stain, then blended out with a water brush.

For more seaside inspiration check out my teamies makes on the challenge blog.

Blue and White

The Crafty Cow forum has a monthly challenge and this year it is a sketch challenge. This is the card I've made for the April sketch. The flower stamp is from Penny Black and was stamped in white and embossed with white detail powder on navy card. The sentiment is also stamped in blue using Adirondack denim. The stamp is from Hobby Art.

Christmas in August

The Simon Says Challenge this week is Christmas in August. I'm not geared up to doing Christmas cards yet - all my Christmassy things are packed away as I have limited space except for one or two bits I've bought recently. This stamp "Sleigh Bear" from Hobby Art being one of them and the Penny Black Crystalline stamps another. I stamped the stars in Brilliance Moonlight White on blue pearlescent card, tore some pale blue glitter paper for the snow and stamped and embossed the bears in black. I coloured the sled with a red Glaze pen, then added the tag on a scrap of red ribbon.

Pink Floral Display

There is some super blog candy over on Crafty Goings On blog - 72 Copic Ciao markers!!! All you have to do is post a comment linking a card with a coloured in stamped image or download. If you use a download from Charmed Cards you get two chances. Unfortunately I have only just got back from holidays so have had to use a card I made just before I went away so I can only have one chance. Here's my entry. I have used the Hobby Art floral display stamp again - I really like this stamp - with the smaller version of it for the background.

The Simon Says Challenge is now open. Their first theme is yellow and green. This is the card I have made for it. The stamps are from Hobby Art, coloured with Marvy le Plume markers and topped with a bit of clear Stardust glaze. Hope you like it!

Floral Display

This is the card I have made for this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge. I'm not very happy with it though as I feel it needs something but not sure what! The image is Floral Display from HobbyArt which I stamped with Kaleidacolour Autumn Leaves then clear embossed. The orange paper is from the Pack from Graphicus Guild. I finally plucked up courage to use some and not just look at it!

PS Decided it needed flowers so have added them to corners
