Will you be my Valentine?

I only ever send one Valentine card each year so I hadn't intended making one this year as I still had one left over fom a challemge last year! But I was inspired to make one when I received this month's Simon Says kit.  It's also quite unusual for me to make something as soon as get the kit, in fact the January one still hasn't been touched!

I am entering this into Simon Says Wednesday challenge which is Anything Goes, Addicted to Stamps & More is Clean and Simple - not sure whether this fits the criteria so feel free to delete it if it doesn't!

Valentines

Now that Valentine's Day is over I can show what I gave my OH. I recycled a tin that had contained some Delhi mix and filled it with chocolate hearts. The papers are retired from last year. The " made with love" is from Whole Lot of Love set.
For the card I used the Language of Love set stamped in Real Red and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, mounted on a scalloped heart cut out with the heart framelit from the retired Hearts a Flutter set. The key was cut with my Cameo, and the sentiment was computer generated

Now that the Playground gates are open again I am going to take this over there ,as it used all snippets apart from the base, and see what everyone is up to

Masculine Valentine!

I am thrilled to have been chosen to be on the design team for The Male Room Challenge Blog.  As the name suggests this is a challenge site for "male" only cards. Perfect for me as with three sons and two grandsons there's not much call for girly cards!!  This fortnight the theme is Valentine. To see my first card for them click HERE and do pop over to the Challenge and see what my fellow design team members have made. There are some great cards.

Valentines in The Male Room

I am thrilled to announce that I'm on the design team for The Male Room Challenge. Here is my first card for them. the theme is "Valentine"

As the card is for a man I kept it fairly simple, nothing flowery! This wasn't what I wanted to make but the stamp set I'd ordered didn't  arrive in time - well it did - just - but I didn't want to leave it to the last minute in case my original idea didn't work out!  All the red glimmer paper was snippets left over from Christmas, so I'm taking this over to Pixies Playground as Di likes us using snippets! I've just sorted my snippets box out as I couldn't get the lid on - and shock, horror sent some to the recycling bin!

Supplies used (all Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):

Red glimmer card
Basic Black cardstock
Silver Encore ink pad
Silver embossing powder
Heart Framelits
Owl Builder punch (for the tiny heart)
Love You More Stamp Set

You can order from my online shop at anytime  or email  if you prefer the personal touch .
And don't forget for every £45 spent you get to choose a free Sale-a-Bration item!

Digitally Sweet Challenge # 73

Welcome to this week's challenge at Digitally Sweet. We are sponsored by Digi Darla and I have chosen to use the precoloured version of Love Bug. This could be for an anniversary or Valentine's Day. It seems a bit early for Valentine's even though Blogland seems to be awash with them.

I used a digikit called Butterfly Kisses from Kreative by Karen  and Craft Artist 2 to make my card. Over here in the UK we only send to our partner/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend/wife  or someone we hope will become one of those!  We follow the traditional association of the day as described in Wikipedia:-

The day was first associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. In 18th-century England, it evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines"). Valentine's Day symbols that are used today include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards.[6]

A Whole lot of Love

Now I know what you're thinking - "Isn't it a bit early - Christmas hasn't passed yet!" But  Valentine's Day will come round really fast once the festivities are over so why not get ahead by buying these super items now. They will only be available for a limited time and are suitable for other occasions as well as Valentine's day. Think anniversaries, weddings etc

Now if none of these appeal to you why not make your own stamp? Stampin' Up last week introduced the Undefined set with everything you need to make your own stamp. Remember lino cuts at school?  This is much  better. I'm waiting impatiently to have a play when mine arrives.

Tuesday 21 February 2012

Hello there. I've spent all afternoon playing! No not cardmaking just prettifying my blog now I've found out how to do it! Do hope you like it.  I have got one card to show you though. We were flying home on Valentine's Day so it's the first time in 11 years that I didn't get roses sent to me!! And I made him feel even more bad about it (lol) as I had sneaked a card for him into my suitcase and here it is.

I used the beautiful stamp set You are Loved from the Spring mini - stamped in real red and baja breeze.Mounted onto red glimmer card also from the spring mini,  added some crystal glaze to the bluebird and a small heart cut out of the glimmer card. The shapes were cut with nesties (non SU I'm afraid!)

Valentine's day

Well now it's here I can show the Valentine card I made. The heart was from a Quickutz silhouette download and cut on craftrobo. The word and small hearts were cut out of vinyl on the robo.
