A Wheelie Nice Card!

It was my youngest son's birthday last month and he is a keen mountain biker so his card had to reflect that. I found a cut file on Silhouette which I used. I cut it out twice, once in blue and once in black so that I could make it look sort of like his bike.

It looked a bit naked just on a white background so before I glued it down I added mud splatters using SU's Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. For once he was suitably impressed!  I'm sharing this over at Cardz for Guys who are looking for wheels and the Playground as snippets were used.

Inky Jellyfish.

Welcome to the new challenge at Cardz for Guyz. Sian has tasked us to use ink or paint. I have quite a few backgrounds made when I was having an inky play some time ago.  This was one that I made using Brushos and shaving foam. It really gives some quite fun backgrounds that change as the paint gets more mixed in. This was an early one before it got too mixed up.

I stamped the Visible Image jellyfish in black and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder to make it stand out more.

Sadly this is my last post for Cardz for Guyz as I am taking a step back from some of my DT commitments, but I'm hoping to find more time to join in with some of the many challenges in blogland without the commitment.

Using Brads or Eyelets

Jane has asked us to use brads or eyelets on our cards for the challenge that starts today at Cardz for Guyz. I have loads of these and hardly ever use them so had a rummage to see what I had and found these sweet Woodware baby feet.

The design is VERY cas and is a case of a lovely Christmas card I received from Chrissie. Hope you dont mind Chrissie. All I need now is someone to have a baby boy!

Ill be interested to see what you all come up with.

Teddy Bear

The new challenge at Cardz for Guyz is "Teddy Bear". While I was rummaging around deciding what to make I came across an old Docrafts Designer CD. After a bit of an effort I managed to load it onto my PC and made this card.

I printed the backgroundpaper with Tatty Teddy on it, then printed and fussy cut the bow and flower. The flower has a liberal coating of Glossy Accents and the bow has a sparkly jewel in the centre.

Lots more inspiration for you on the challenge blog.

A Man Tree!

Welcome back to a new challenge at Cardz for Guyz, and this time we would like to see your Clean and Simple cards for the males  in your life. I'm not sure that mine is as cas as I would have liked really!

I used a stamp from the now defunct Little Claire. I coloured it with some Sakura gelly roll pens that were lurking in the back of a drawer! There's more inspiration over on the challenge blog and i'm looking forward to seeing your makes in the gallery.

Blue!

Thelast challenge of the year at Cardz for Guyz is "Blue" I had lots of pieces of blue paper, and still have, in my snippets box, so made two cards using some of them.

Sadly it didn't make much of a dent in the pile but it did make two fairly quick and easy cards. I'm looking forward to seeing your blue creations.

Christmas Critters

Dawn has chosen Christmas Critters as the theme for the next two weeks at Cardz for Guyz.

This House Mouse stamp has been used before but only once so it was time for another airing. Once stamped, coloured, cut out and mounted on the plaid paper I thought it looked a bit stark so added some sequins, think I might have overdone them though!

I hope you can join us this week and make a masculine card. We also have a DT call - check the blog for details.

All wrapped up c4g 5 nov

Welcome to the new challenge at Cardz for Guyz. Helen has chosen All Wrapped Up - people or animals in scarves, hats etc or featuring presents. Lots of choice for you there!

I have used a die from Simon Says Stamp which is a little bit fiddly to use but is perfect for using up scraps of paper and card.  Please head over to the challenge blog and check out the rest of the DT's makes.

Apple Pie Anyone?

We have a new challenge at Cardz for Guyz and it was my turn to set the challenge. I chose food and or drink. Think it must have been near dinner time when I thought of it!

I found this apple pie stamp from SSS and an apple sticker. A really quick and easy design. I thought the gingham paper could represent a tablecloth!

Do go and visit the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team have made.

Spooky!

I'm really not big on Halloween and tend to only make cards if I need to for my DT work, then my grandsons get them. As a result I have very little halloween stuff in my stash so I went shopping for a digi stamp for this card at Bugaboo.

I printed it out on photo paper then used a new to me technique. I smooshed some Distress Oxide inks onto my craft mat, fossilised amber, faded jeans and wilted violet, then using each colour separately wiped the card through it till I was happy with the coverage. The black image then loked very odd but some wiping with a baby wipe, brightened the inks up and cleaned the printed image.  I was o pleased with it I made another!

Love this technique! I seem to remember from years ago that Debbie Moore did something called Print Magic which embossed printed images so Im off to see if I can find some as I think that would make the images stand out even better.Hope you can join us at Cardz for Guyz with your spooky cards.

Trees and Leaves

I can't believe how fast this month is going, here we are over half way through September already, and it's time for another challenge at Cardz for Guyz. There's lots of autumn themed challenges around and this one is noe exception, as we want to see trees and or leaves on your card.

When I was sorting out my box of pre stamped part made bits I came across this topper that I had foiled.

I used , copper gold, green and red foil . In real life it is very pretty. I mounted it on copper and then gold mirri card, which looks a bit like tortoiseshell in the photo!

I took this one to try to show the shine.

There's a whole heap of inspiration on the challenge blog, so why not pop over and have a look.

I'm also entering the challenges at:

Inspired By the Beatles!

This is the new challenge at Cardz for Guyz chosen by Jane. I knew as soon as I saw it what song I was going to use. Can you guess what it is?(lol)

I had a piece of paper left from my scrapbooking of the Great Barrier Reef which has some fishes on it (they are very faint though), so I cut some waves for my sea. The submarine is from the Silhouette store cut out on my Cameo. It did have the little portholes as well but they disappeared among the chaos on my desk so I added some little candy stickers. The little fishes were out of my embellishment stash. I printed the sentiment on the computer using the Yellow Submarine font.
There's some great inspiration on the challenge blog from the other DT members.
I’m going to take this across to the Playground as well.

Music

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Cardz for Guyz, where we would like to see your cards with anything musical.

After looking through my stamps and not getting any inspiration I decided to have a look at my Cameo files.

I found the musical frameand decided to use that as my basis. Then I had to decide what to put in the middle. Because the frame is quite large I used a 7 x 7 card and anu suitable stamps seemed a bit lost, so I went back to the Cameo. Sticking all those letters on took an age! I would have liked them a little smaller but the Cameo wasn't playing nice if I reduced them.

Don't forget to check out the makes from the rest of the DT and please come and join in.

Wacky Wheels!

Welcome to the new challenge at Cardz for Guyz and this week we want to see your makes with a theme of Transport.

I used an image from a La Pashe CD, which I cut out and decoupaged. The background paper is from my stash of 6 x 6 papers. I always fancied having a 2CV until I had a ride in one. It was a bit like sitting in a deckchair! Do check out all the other makes on the challenge blog.

A Zentangled card.

It's Tuesday so time for the new chllenge at Cardz for Guyz.It was my turn to choose the theme and I went for Black and White only. This gave me the opporunity to use my new interest in Zentangle on a card.
I used a Uniko background stamp then filled the triangles in with Zentangles. It was a bit of a challenge to find ones to use that were small enough! But I have to say I'm quite pleased with the result. Since making it I have seen that Bev has done something similar here.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the DTs makes.

Use Washi Tape!

The challenge at Cardz for Guyz is to use washi tape. Now I  have only got a limited selection as I am really not fond of using itas I always end up having to glue it down.

Thiscard was no exception! As most of my rolls seem to be pink based I was even more limited in my choice. I have to say though that I am quite pleased with the result.  Don't forget to check out the rest of the DTs makes.

Fun and Games!

Welcome to the new challenge at Cardz for Guyz. Remember we are looking for cards for the men and boys in our life! Just lately we have had quite a few entries that are not following the challenge rules.

This time we would like your cards to depict Fun and Games. Although I make quite a lot of masculine cards most of my stamps for games are football orientated and Iwanted to do something different. After a rummage through some old stash I found some old toppers, which I think must have come with a magazine as I can't imagine they are something I would have bought.

I opted for the dartboard one and found some paper with arrows on that sort of looked like darts! Mounted it all on Cajun Craze card which was a perfect match and added some gold stickles in the corners.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's makes.

Get inky!

The challenge at Cardz for Guyz is to get messy and make your own background. Now I have to confess that I never seem to get such good results as other people when I play with inks.

For this card, I sprayed a piece of card with TH Distress Resist Spray. When it was dry I blended Oxide inks over it then misted it with some water. The dies were from a recent magazine. The fish bowl and sentiment were cut from some teal card, but the fshes and seaweed were from a scrap of white card and coloured with copics.

I hope you'll be able to join in with us getting messy!

Use Your Dies

Welcome to the new challenge over at Cardz for Guyz. This time we want you to use your dies. It gave me the perfect reason to use a new die that I bought at the recent Make It Show.

I used an old SU football stamp which I  stamped in black and clear embossed, in the centre of a white panel. I masked off the circle and sponged blue ink through a stencil. I added the die around the football and mounted onto a card blank made from the same blue card. Of course it had to be blue and white as both grandsons and two sons support Chelsea!

Make sure to pop over and see what the rest of the DT have made.

I am also linking this into the Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies challenge.

Wild Animals

Its a new challenge at Cardz for Guyz and my turn to set it. I have chosen Wild Animals. So let's see your makes for MALES with wild animals on. There seems to be some confusion among some entrants about the word Guyz as we have had a lot of very girly entries just lately.

Anyway here is my card - a nice CAS design.

I have used a Happy Little Stampers set - Born to be Wild. The panel was cut with a Crealies die and a scrap of striped paper down the edge. I'm going to hop over to the Playground with this as well.
