OLC Christmas

This has to be one of the simplest cards I've ever made!  I used a very old long slim card blank from my stash. I still have quite a lot from my very early crafting days! They are all coloured and pearlescent, so never quite know what to do with them, hence the reason they are still at the bottom of my card blank box.

I stamped the image, another magazine freebie from last year,  in black archival ink so that it would dry.  I'm sharing with Cardz for Galz for their one layer challenge.

Christmas Kraft

I recently came across the Split 4 Stamping technique and had to give it a try.  You can see a You Tube tutorial here.
I used a Hero Arts stamp set that hadn't seen ink before for the foliage and a variety of Christmas sentiments.

I'll certainly be using the technique again. Im entering this at Cardz for Galz and NBUS challenge.

Spring Flowers

Hi and welcome to the new challenge at Cardz for Galz. It is my turn to set the challenge this week and I have chosen a nice easy option for you - Spring Flowers.

I decided to have a go with my very old set of peg stamps after seeing lots of inspiration at the recent Create it show in Farnborough. I have never really had a lot of success with them but thought it was time to try again. And here's the result.

I used various shades of orange, yellow and green, and stamped round a lightly drawn half circle. The sentiment is from Uniko but I wish I'd put "birthday" a bit closer to the "Happy".This has already winged its way to a friend who had a birthday last week.

This is also going to be my last challenge for Cardz for Galz.I've really enjoyed being part of the  team but it's time for a bit of a break. If any of you fancy being part of a fun design team I'm sure Caz would be delighted to hear from you.

Shoes!

It's time for a new challenge at Cardz for Galz. Caz has asked us to make cards with Shoes on. I didn't want to use the same image as I used on my Cinderella card  so did a bit of browsing and found this image on Craft Artist.
I printed the image and the background paper then cut them out.The two square mats are snippets and the Happy Birthday is a peel off coloured with a black Copic.

My days of wearing shoes with a heel like that are long gone, in fact I don't think I ever had any quite that high!

Black and Bling

The new challenge at Cardz for Galz is Black and Bling. I originally thought of doing something die cut and silvery on black card but then I remembered this Woodware stamp that had never seen ink.

I stamped and heat embossed it in silver along with the sentiment, then added the gols and silver candy in the larger circles and some rhinestones in the smaller ones. I am really quite pleased with the way it has turned out.

Do check out the inspiration from the rest of my teammates and hopefully you'll play along too.

The First Sign of Spring.

Snowdrops are supposed to be the first sign of Spring. Nobody's told my garden that as I haven't seen one yet but I have got miniature daffodils in bloom. Anyway I decided to make a spring like card for the new challenge at Cardz for Galz, which is to use Kraft.

I stamped the image from Uniko in dark green then coloured it with pencils. I added a nice fresh green ribbon to ground it. No sentiment as I'll add one when I decide who I am using it for.

White and Blue

It's time for the new challenge at Cardz for Galz and we would like to see your white and blue cards.

I have been itching to try out this new turnaround stamp that I bought from SSS in their Stamptember promotion, but Christmas cards got in the way! I used four shades of blue to stamp the pattern, then added the simple hello in black. I'm really quite pleased with the way it turned out. Make sure to stop by the challenge blog to see some other blue and white creations.

Pins and Needles!

Welcome to our new challenge at Cardz for Galz, the first in 2020. The theme is "Haberdashery". It has given me the opportunity to use some dies thatI got as part of a bundle and thought I would never use.

I found a couple of sheets of coordinating background paper, I thought the top one looked a bit like stitches! I diecut the pincushion, scissors and cotton reeland wound some glitter cord round it. The buttons were out of my stash. I think I'll save this for a friend's birthday later in the year as she is a keen quilter.

Do check out the rest of the DTs makes.

A Cute Christmas card!

Helen has chosen Cute Christmas as the theme for the new challenge at Cardz for Galz.
I first saw a card made with this stamp by Mama Elephant at the Make It Show back in February but it had sold out. I managed to get it later online but I have only just  inked it up.

I coloured the kitties in with Promarkers and added glitter to the baubles and hats. Sadly it doesn't show in the photo. The snowflakes are punched out of white glitter paper with an old Martha Stewart punch.

I hope to see your makes in the gallery and if you would like to join our friendly team we are having a DT call, full details on the blog.

Get Ready for Christmas!

It's time for a new challenge at Cardz for Galz and I chose the theme "Get ready for Christmas". Hopefully you're all already doing this!

I have used a Woodware stamp that has been languishing unloved in my Christmas stash. I decided to just stamp it in gold and leave it uncoloured, but mounted on top of a strip of gold glitter card.

Then I made a second more colourful version.

I'm looking forward to seeing all your makes too.
I’m also joining in at Addicted to Stamps and More.

Let it Snow

It's time for another challenge at Cardz for Galz and the cue is "Let it Snow". I found this pretty snowflake paper in my stash and cut out his gorgeous snowflake. I think it is a Memory Box die but I'm not sure.

My idea originally was to inlay it  with some icy blue glitter paper but it was too pale and didn't show up, and also incredibly fiddly!. Then I rememberd I had some Bedazzle bead/glitter from many moons ago and had a lovely bluey green one. I carefully tipped some ontop and pressed down onto the adhesive. I will add a sentiment later but wanted to make sure the beads really stuck first.

Sparkly Snowflakes.

Caz has chosen the theme at Cardz for Galz this time and she has picked "Something Beginning with S.  At this time of year what else could I go with but snowflakes and sparkly ones as well!

The paper is from my very large stash of 6 x 6papers cut with a stitched curved edge die. Some blue sparkly card underneath and some silver sparkly snowflakes. Do you think I've covered the "s"?

I wonder how many cards will have snowflakes on? A lot I think!

Shades of Brown

The new challenge at Cardz for Galz is "Shades of Brown". My first thought was how can I make a brown card girly? Then I remembered a Christmas stamp that was lurking in my NBUS stash which would be perfect in brown.

I stamped the image in Chocolate Chip then inked all the edges. I inked the mat with the same ink and added a crumb cake ribbon and bow before mounting on a white card blank. Lots of glitter added to the snowy bits as well. Do check out the challenge blog and the rest of the ispiration.

Pretty Bows

It's timefor the new challenge at Cardz for Galz and we would like to see Pretty Bows on your cards.Although I have loads of ribbon I rarely use it on my cards and today is no exception, but I have used bows - paper ones!

I used a SU punch to make the bows out of a snippet of pretty paper that I've had for ages, and mounted them onto a white mat . The orange mat was a piece of the same paper, and inked round the edges of both with Spiced Marmalade. The mats were cut with a Penny Black die. Can't  wait to see what you make.

Welcome Autumn!

It's time for a new challenge at Cardz for Galz and our theme is Welcome Autumn. I was sorting through my box of previously stamped images and came across this one which I had coloured in last autumn and not used. So time to reduce the box slightly!

The stamp is from Simon Says Stamp and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up! The background paper is some very subtly patterned 6x6 from my stash. Why not join is with us  - you have two weeks to show us your autumn/fall makes.

In the Groovi!

The new challenge at Cardz for Galz is to use vellum. My first thought was to add a vellum band with a sentiment to the front of my card, then I had a lightbulb moment and decided to look through my Groovi plates which have been very underused!

I really found it quite relaxing even though my craft room feels like a sauna at the moment! After embossing the outline I added colour on the back withSpectrum Noir colour pencils. I glued it onto a white card blank then addded a frame cut out with a Julie Hickey die which hid the edges of the vellum and the glue!

Do check out the rest of the DT makes.

Dragonfly Dreams

The new challenge at Cardz for Galz is "Wings". I decided to use a pretty stamp set from SU that I had never inked up and is now retired. My idea was to stamp on a piece of acetate that I has coloured with alcohol inks. I then spent a very frustrating couple of hours trying to get a decent stamped image, but with no success. The stamp obviously has a flaw. The moral of this story is that rather than not inking up new stamps immediately, it actually might be a good idea to test them before adding them to the NBUS mountain!

On to plan two which was to use the matching dies instead. By this time my coloured piece of acetate was all used up and in the bin.

A quick rummage in my bits drawer and I found a piece of brusho coloured background.  I cut an oval out of it to mount my dragonfly on.

Then cut the dragonfly out of purple glitter and silver mirri card. I'll add a sentiment when I use it.

There's lots of inspiration on the challenge blog and hope to see all your lovely makes as well.

Summer Fun!

Thank you to everyone who entered my Sun,Sea and Sand challenge last week. It was fun looking at all your entries.

The new challenge at Cardz for Galz is Summer Fun chosen by Helen. I wasn't really sure wht to make for this. Then while I was browsing through one of my boxes I came across some sheets of stickers that I've had for an age, which filled the bill nicely. I stuck a selection onto a pieceod white card leaving a small border. This was harder than it looks, picking ones to fit!

I mounted the whole thing onto a mat of blue then onto a white card blank. So there you are, now let's see what you make, and don't forget to see what the rest of the team have made.

Sun, Sea and Sand.

Here we are with a new challenge at Cardz for Galz. It is my turn to choose the challenge and I have gone with Sun, Sea and Sand. when I picked this I had no idea that Creative Stamping would produce the perfect set of stamps just a few weeks earlier. Needless to say I used them.

I watercoloured the image but made the stupid mistake of doing the background first! So I had to spend some time removing enough colour so that the girl's shoulders were not too blue! I hope you'll find time to join in with us.

It's Party Time!

It's time to party over at Card for Galz to celebrate their 100th challenge. So we want you to create a celebratory/party card.

I used an old SU set of stamps to make a pretty background.I stamped and clear embossed the sentiment on vellum so that it didn't obscure the drinks! This was my second attempt. The first was too just stamp in black on pink but it looked much too dull so it got binned!
