Rudolph Day - May

I'm not sure where the month has gone but it's time for Rudolph Day again! Normally I have a card made well in advance but not this month!  I  have used a NBUS Woodware stamp that I won in the mega Christmas Draw at Pixies Crafty Playground. Thank you Di.

I stamped the image in  black and heat embossed it on  watercolour card as I have a lot of offcuts lying around from my painting classes. I coloured it with Derwent Graphitint watercolours, then added a slimline scalloped frame from Simon Says Stamp ( another snippet and NBUS) so I'm also sharing this at Pixies Playground and the NBUS challenge.

Black and Bling

The new challenge at Cardz for Galz is Black and Bling. I originally thought of doing something die cut and silvery on black card but then I remembered this Woodware stamp that had never seen ink.

I stamped and heat embossed it in silver along with the sentiment, then added the gols and silver candy in the larger circles and some rhinestones in the smaller ones. I am really quite pleased with the way it has turned out.

Do check out the inspiration from the rest of my teammates and hopefully you'll play along too.

Rudolph day

I'm just squeezing in again at the last minute to Sarn's Rudolph Day challenge.
I don't know why I'm so late as I made the cards at the same time as last month's! Anyway here they  are:

I 'm not sure about the sequins though - it started off with one to hide a smudge then added some more to balance it but I don't like the top one - however the glue seems to be super strength and that sequin is not going to move!! The good thing about these cards though is that I finally managed to use some Christmas paper that I bought years ago and have never managed to use it as it never looked quite right.

Peeking over.........

Gosh it's a long time since I managed to do a challenge on the first day! Over at Less is More the ladies are asking for "Humour". So i had a rummage through all my stamps looking for something that could be classed as vaguely humourous. I thought this one might fit the bill!

I am pretty sure it is an old Woodware set - I know I've had it a long time. I coloured it with Distress markers - the first time i've tried them. The embossed brickwork is a Spellbinder's embossability folder.

Less is More Week 23 - One layer Card

The challenge at Less is More this week is another one layer card but it has to be something with legs! I decided to go with this Woodware stamp that I have had for ages and only used once before. I stamped him across the bottom of the card and continuing round to the back.

Then I coloured him with Aquamarkers so that the colours wouldn't bleed through. And finally added a sentiment from the same stamp set.

Sweet Spring

Here is today's effort!  I used the sketch from this week's Totally Papercraft, the papers are from Basic Grey, the image from Little Claire's Designs coloured with Copic Ciao pens, the sentiment I think is a Woodware one and the ribbon was from my Mother's Day flowers!! Perfect for cardmaking! I am entering this into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - For a Child

The ABC Challenge - Sugar and Spice

Lili of the Valley - Happy Birthday

Totally Papercrafts- Sketch Challenge

Summer Tilda

The Just Magnolia challenge this week is "Summer". Here is the card I made for it. The paper and red card is from DCWV, flowers and brad from stash. I coloured the image with copics then water coloured a wash around them to get rid of the whiteness of the card. The wall stamp is from Woodware. I also stippled some red and green ink with a stencil brush on the base card again to disguise the stark whiteness.

Oriental Family

I made this card for the Simon Says Stamp challenge this week. They are celebrating the Simon Says Stamp Blog's 1st birthday. they are also having a blog hop on Sunday - why not pop over and see what's going on?

I used the Simon Says Stamp My Family set of stamps - stamped in black then heat embossed and coloured with twinkling H2Os. The flowers on the left are stamped and embossed in blue and red pearl lustre embossing powders, ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is from Woodware. Originally I scanned this but the flowers didn't show up.

I do wish Blogger would sort out the ongoing problem with the followers gadget as I have terrible problems getting on the Simon Says blogs. Still getting the message that operation is aborted and when I press the back button the page sometimes reloads but then stops me doing anything else until I close Internet Explorer down. So at the moment I'm having to look at some blogs through Firefox!

Simon Says Challenge Recipe

The Simon Says Challenge is a recipe set by the very talented Lorraine. The recipe is to use 2 papers, 3 buttons and 1 ribbon. Here is my interpretation. The papers are Papermania and the stamp is " Skateboard Dude" from Woodware.
