Spooky monsters

This is my last post as GDT on the Lasting Memories challenge site. I have really enjoyed making these layouts. This week the challenge is Monsters. Did you know that October 25th was originally called Frankenstein Friday? I certainly didn't!

This is an old photo of my two grandsons dressed up for Halloween. I printed the monsters out from a
Craft Artist digi kit then fussy cut them out. I don’t think they’ll be doing any partying this year as Covid numbers are still rising here.

Fright night

This week's challenge at Lasting Memories is to have a moon somewhere on your layout, either in the photo or on the paper.

I had no photos with a moon that were suitable to scrap so I went with Halloween and some atmospheric paper. The paper, stickers and title all came from Sunshine Scrapbooking.

Spooky!

I'm really not big on Halloween and tend to only make cards if I need to for my DT work, then my grandsons get them. As a result I have very little halloween stuff in my stash so I went shopping for a digi stamp for this card at Bugaboo.

I printed it out on photo paper then used a new to me technique. I smooshed some Distress Oxide inks onto my craft mat, fossilised amber, faded jeans and wilted violet, then using each colour separately wiped the card through it till I was happy with the coverage. The black image then loked very odd but some wiping with a baby wipe, brightened the inks up and cleaned the printed image.  I was o pleased with it I made another!

Love this technique! I seem to remember from years ago that Debbie Moore did something called Print Magic which embossed printed images so Im off to see if I can find some as I think that would make the images stand out even better.Hope you can join us at Cardz for Guyz with your spooky cards.

I Put a Spell on You at Make My Monday

This is the second Halloween card I made, as I said in my previous post, I really don't do Halloween, but make just two cards a year for my grandsons.

I used the SU cookie cutter set again. I actually think these images are rather fun! It's a pity the fluorescent glittery green eyes don't show up in the photo! Don't forget to check out all the other inspiration at Make My Monday.

Halloween at Cardz 4 Guyz

This week the theme at Cardz 4 Guyz is Boo (Halloween) or Autumn thank you card. Now I’m not big on Halloween but my two grandsons are. This is the first card I made using the SU Cookie  Cutter Halloween set. I coloured the little fella with Copics and used up some snippets of paper.

I’m so glad I got ahead with my DT cards as my craft room is a bit of a dumping ground at the moment, and the rest of the house is in total chaos!  I keep telling myself it will all be worth it when it’s finished. Meanwhile here is a taste of what I mean.

I’m also going to pop in to the Playground while I can, some light relief is needed!

Cardz 4 Guyz Halloween

There a new challenge at  Cardz 4 Guyz and this week the challenge set by Joan is Boo (Halloween) or an Autumn Thank you card. Now I'm not big on halloween and rarely make anything for it. However decided I would make a card in the theme as I could send it to one of my grandsons, they usually dress up for it. And this is what I came up with. The image and paper are both from SU but are digital ones from MDS(no longer available!) I inked around the image and added the spider's webs and "eek!" The witch's face is coloured with copics.
Of course I had to make another one for my other grandson and used the same set of images but the paper is from a different digital set as MDS wouldn't let me change the colour of the paper. I think I must have been doing something wrong as it 's a long time since I've  used it.

This time I inked with Dusty Concord, added the spiders' webs and the spiders with the word "spooky".

Don't forget to check out the rest of th DTs cards. I'm also entering this into Craft your Passion and Crafting from the Heart where the challenges are always Anything Goes.

The Male Room - Halloween

I'm not big on Halloween so don't have much in the way of stamps etc for it. But I did get this digi image last year from Just Inklined to make a one layer card for a challenge. Since then it has been sitting in my box of " must do something with that"! So I pulled it out and cut it up!

I mounted the image onto some shiny purple mirri card and then onto some dark green, added some tiny spiders webs in the corners and mounted it onto an orange card blank. The sentiment got the same layering treatment.  Now I wonder if I'll be able to upcycle this again next year(lol)!

Halloween Boxes and MDS

I don't normally do any Halloween cards etc as its not as big over here in the UK aas it is in the States so I don't own any Halloween papers or stamps. But this year I decided to send some sweets to my grandsons as they get involved in it through school and nursery.  Now I could have just put them in an envelope and posted them but where's the fun in opening that. The Stampin' Up!  boxes were the perfect size to hold two nets of pumpkins and google eyes!! So I set to printing off some papers and images from MDS and decorating the boxes and here they are.

And the great thing about MDS is that you can make the images any sze you want!

You can order from my online shop at anytime  or email  if you prefer the personal touch .
