A Valentine!

I suddenly realised that it was Valentines's Day next Monday so yesterday I made  a quick card after I had cleared away all the mess from my pastel painting. I will show you those later in the week.

As you can see it was a very quick card. I die cut a red heart with an old SU die set and the added the Penny Black train. I've had this die for ages waiting for an occasion to use it.
I'm finding card making a bit difficult since I had my cataracts done. I'm constantly having to take my reading glasses on and off, not a problem I had before, in fact I'm thinking of asking the optician for varifocals when I next have my eyes tested, just for card making!

Challenges entered:

Pixies Snippets Play ground - red and black snippets.
NBUS Challenge - Penny Black die

I Heart You

Welcome back to the new challenge at Make My Monday. Wei has chosen I Heart You as the topic - just in time for Valentine's Day.

I tried out something new for this. A friend of mine did a papercutting workshop before Christmas and had made some lovely cards as a result. I decide to have a go and bought a template from Lucy Dorothy.
This is the finished card. It took a while to cut but it was quite enjoyable doing something different.

I hope you'll be able to join in with your heart cards.

Red, Pink and White

It is fairly obvious that Valentine's Day is almost upon us as there are quite a number of challenge blogs with similar themes to this.  So I went with the flow and made a very QCAS card!

I found these shiny stickers in my stash- I'm fairly certain they were in a Simon Says Stamp kit a couple of years ago. It's probably not what I would normally have made but I was very short on time, and actually I rather like it. Think DH will get this on the 14th!

Cardz 4 Guyz - Love!

The challenge this week at Cardz 4 Guyz is " Love"  - very appropriate as it will soon be Valentine's Day! I have used a NBUS stamp from SU. As it is quite a small stamp I mounted it on red and black, bfore adding it to the spotty paper. The square stitched dies are also SU, the "Love" is a small die which I think was another freebie.

Don't forget t0 visit the other DTs to see what they have made.

Digitally Sweet # 75 and Valentine

Happy St Valentine's Day!! and welcome to another challenge at Digitally Sweet where the theme is "Hearts Abound" and this inspirational photo has been provided.

The sponsor this week is Lunagirl and she provided us with some gorgeous images to use. I have used two. The first one I used for my background and the second one,  these beautiful roses became my focal point. After that I really didn't need to add very much - a few leaves, pearly swirls and of course a heart.

As usual I created my card with Craft Artist 2. Why not join us this week for the chance to win some gorgeous Lunagirl images - just remember that your entry MUST have something digital  and if it is 100% digital your entry qualifies twice for any giveaways!!

Digital Valentine

Apologies for my long absence! Those of you who read my other blog you will know why. Suffice it to say I have still got a support bandage on my arm and still can't drive but I have started to craft again. I had made my OH a Valentine card long before the day but with my restricted movements he wasn't going to get it till after the event. So I set to and made a digital one using Craft Artist and emailed it to his work so he got it first thing on the 14th!

I hope you like it! He did!

Valentine's Day

I've been busy decorating since having a week in the sun and suddenly realised it was Valentine's Day next Monday. So in between the coats of paint on the walls did manage to make a quick card. I was quite pleased with it until I smudged red ink on the inside! But covered it up with some extra hearts!
