Mountain Biking Bear!

My youngest son is a very keen mountain biker but I am finding it difficult to come up with ideas for his birthday cards. This is the one I made for him using some photos he had taken on a biking holiday in Whistler.  He had a great time there and was delighted to have seen a bear on one of his rides.

So with a bit of manipulation of his photographs and the help of Craft Artist I came up with this one! The cyclist behind the bear is my son.

Superhero Twins!

Those of you who have been reading my blog for some time will know that my neighbours have twin boys. Unbelievably they have just celebrated their 5th birthday and will shortly be moving to a bigger house.

These are the cards I made for them this year. Both were created with Craft Artist with the superheroes fussy cut and attached with a springy thing. I'm sure there is a technical term for them!

Jamie’s Card

April's a busy month for making male birthday cards for me. Three in nine days!  This one is for my stepdaughter’s boyfriend.

I created the image on Craft Artist then cut it out with a stitched rectangle die and mounted it onto a yellow mat .

Challenges entered: Fab ‘n’Funky - masculine

Rudolph Day October

I'm a bit later posting for Rudoph Day than I expected. First the internet went, then when I got it back I got a migraine!

Anyway I'm here now and with time to spare.I decided to do a card on Craft Artist so that if I run short it will be easy to replicate a few! I printed the image off on textured cardstock then matted it onto a piece of dark red.

Shoes!

It's time for a new challenge at Cardz for Galz. Caz has asked us to make cards with Shoes on. I didn't want to use the same image as I used on my Cinderella card  so did a bit of browsing and found this image on Craft Artist.
I printed the image and the background paper then cut them out.The two square mats are snippets and the Happy Birthday is a peel off coloured with a black Copic.

My days of wearing shoes with a heel like that are long gone, in fact I don't think I ever had any quite that high!

You're Out of This World!

Good morning all! Time to post my card for the new challenge at Cardz for Guyz and this time it is Science Fiction or Steampunk. I went with science fiction as I'm never sure what steampunk really is! Mind you science fiction was a bit of a stretch as well for me as none of my stamps seemed to lend themselves to the theme.

So Craft Artist came to the rescue once again.A lovely Daisy Trail kit provided these fun images. I printed everything twice and fussy cut the spaceman, alien and sentiment to decoupage to the base. The stars were covered with gols Wink of Stella and the yellow on the alien's eyes, and space helmet have been glossy accented! So in real life it is shiny and sparkly! Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT.

Easter Fun

It is my turn to choose the theme at Make My Monday and I went for Easter Fun. My craft room is still in a state of chaos but I have got the laptop and printer set up now. So I went for a digital creation.
I used Craft Artist and some of their digikits to make this card.Such a shame that it is no longer available.

This is what my room looked like at the weekend!

Last minute Christmas at C4G !

It's time for a last minute Christmas card at Cardz 4 Guyz. Wirh all the building work I wasn't sure whether I would get enough Christmas cards made this year, so I designed a couple of digital ones that I could quickly print off. (It goes against the grain to buy them!)

I made this one using Craft Artist and some of the Daisy Trail kits. If you still have time to craft before Christmas why not join us, if you dont need another card this year, you will have a head start on next year's!!

Rudolph Day - October

I didn't really think I would be able to make a card for this month's Rudolph Day as my craft room is currently a dumping ground for anything and everything. But I am definitely getting card making withdrawal symptoms - so went digital as I have got the laptop.

I know I'm not going to have enough cards made this year as the building work started later and is lasting longer than anticipated. I was reluctantly thinking I would have to buy some cards, but instead I think I will be able to print off some digital ones instead.Just need to make sure I've got enough printer ink!

Quirky June mid month

It's time for a mid month reminder for Quirky Crafts. This time I used an image from Bugaboo who are kindly sponsoring us.
I printed out the image quite large then colored it in with Copics. I then scanned it and took it into Craft Artist, where I added it to a background all made digitally.

Victorian Romance at make My Monday

My goodness we're at the end of the month of May already. I'm sure the years get shorter! Anyhow it's time for a new challenge at Make My Monday.

This fortnight the challenge is Victorian Romance chosen by Caz. I have used an image from Lunagirl, and created my topper in Craft Artist. I thought the idea of cats getting married was rather sweet!

The Great Outdoors

Hello there, this week the challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is The Great Outdoors chosen by Julie. After much thought and inspection of my stamps I decided to use Craft Artist to make my card. I created a scene using a Daisy Trail digi kit then printed out some separate elements.

I fussy cut the separate elements out and decoupaged them, then mounted the whole thing onto a dark brown mat and a white 7 x 7 card blank.

I do hope you cna join us this week and don't forget to check out my teammates designs as werell.

So Many Pubs

It is my youngest's birthday on Saturday and I was running out of ideas for his card. In the past I've made  various football cards for him but I thought it was time to do something different, but nothing came to mind.  In fact I was going to buy him a funny card, but then I decided to have a play with Craft Artist which I haven't used in a long time.

And this is what I ended up with.  A one layer card with a sentiment I hope he agrees with!

I am joining in the following challenges:
The Paper Shelter - Make It Digital
Crafting by Designs - Anything goes

Less is More - Life's a Beach!

I've managed to find time to make a card for this week's Less is More challenge and this is what I came up with.

I hope it's not cheating as I created the scene with Craft Artist - if it is ladies then please feel free to delete it. I cut the frame out with some Spellbinders dies, stamped it with SU's hardwood stamp then ran it through a wood embossing folder. I was trying to get the look of distressed wood that you see on pictures in seaside gift shops. I'm not sure if I succeeded though. The sentiment is a Simon Says Stamp one.

Digitally Sweet #125 - Anything Goes

The new challenge this week at Digitally Sweet is everyone's favourite "Anything Goes". Once again we are sponsored by Bugaboo and I chose this cute Cupie baby -Moon image to work with.

I thought it was perfect for a new baby card! Using Craft Artist2 as usual I coloured hime digitally and added him to a dark blue background, added some clouds and a swirl - job done!

This post is tinged with a little sadness as it is my last one for Digitally Sweet. I have regretfully decided to stand down from the DT as I needed to free up some time for other projects - mainly house and garden related! I'm sure though that I will join in the challenges from time  to time  - after all I will need my digital fix!

Digitally Sweet # 124 - Anything but a Card or Layout

Hi, this week the challenge at Digitally Sweet is "Anything but a Card or Layout". I started off with the idea of a giftbag but it all went horribly wrong so I made a bookmark instead! We are sponsored by Lacy Sunshine and I chose Water Lily Enchantress to work with.
I started off by colouring her with Spectrum Noir pencils but the colours seemed to come out very pale and when I scanned it back in was much too wishy washy. I think I must be doing something wrong with them so will have to find some tutorials and practice. So I recoloured her by going over my original colouring with Promarkers - much brighter! The background and other elements are from various Daisytrail kits and as usual I used Craft Artist 2 to create it.

Digitally Sweet Challenge# 121 - Favourite Shape

Hi and welcome to a new year and a new challenge on Digitally Sweet. This week the challenge is "My Favourite Shape" and we are sponsored once again by Stitchy Bear. I have used the Calla Lily set which included papers and the lovely digi stamp.

I really didn't need to do much to create a pretty page.I used a circle as my  shape and used one of the papers as a backing for the digistamp. I was going to paper piece or colour but then decided to just change the line colour and add a shadow to it. Another of the papers for the background and a couple of embellishments and my card was finished. As ever I used Craft Artist 2 to create the card and the embelishments were from some Daisy Trail kits.Do head over to the challenge blog to see what shapes the rest of the team have used.

Digitally Sweet #117 - Sentiment as Main Focus

Hi and welcome to this week's challenge at Digitally Sweet . First though I would like to give a warm welcome to Granmargaret who has joined the DT.

On to the challenge which is to use the sentiment as the main focus. We are sponsored by Lacy Sunshine . I chose to use Peppermint Snow Globe, but when I got the image couldn't for the life of me remember what I had planned to do with it - so the thinking cap had to go on.

As usual I created it in Craft Artist 2 and coloured the image digitally in the programme as well. Wish I could remember what my original idea was! Head on over to the challenge blog and see what great designs the rest of the DT have come up with.

Digitally Sweet #115 - Opposites attract!

Hi and welcome to the new challenge at Digitally Sweet. This week we are sponsored by

"Our challenge is "Oppposites Attract" so we're looking for opposites - black/white, circle/square - you get the idea!"
I used "Young Couple - person to annoy" and went for a simple card in black and white.
I've had to put a narrow black frame around it as the white just disappeared into the blog background! I would aslo have liked to change the sentiment so that half was in white and half in black but it wouldn't let me change the colour at all - so after trying foer abut an hour I gave up and put a speech bubble round it instead. As almost always I created it in Craft Artist 2. No digikits used though just shapes and colour fill!
