A Rainbow of Octopus!!

Well here we are half way through April so it's time for another challenge at Perfectly CAS, where we challenge you to only use one third of your card.

This month we want you to use masking.I decided to make an octopus card. You will see from my sidebar that I support Octopus for a Preemie UK. I am the local coordinator and it's my job to check all the octopus my local makers produce to ensure they are suitable. Every so often to encourage them I do a small monthly draw and alwayd put an octopus themed card in with the little prize. The stamp I usually use for these is from Lawn Fawn and as it was sitting on my desk, decided to use it for this challenge.

As rainbows are currently appearing everywhere as a symbol of hope while we battle this pandemic, I made a rainbow of octopus.I think I could have spaced them a bit better though.

Why don't you join in and see what you can create using only one third of your card?
I’m also sharing this with Sir Stampalot -Over the Rainbow Challenge

A Little Octopus!

Those of you who read my blog on a regular basis will know that I am involved with the Octopus For a Preemie UK charity, (see the sidebar and HERE ) so when I sat his cute Lawn Fawn stamp I couldn't resist!

I cut out a stitched rectangle square from SU then  stamped him in black and clear embossed him. I  masked him off and stamped the bubbles in Versamark and embossed them in white. I sponged some Distress Oxides ink over the top. I coloured the little octopus with a pink Copic. The white and blue mats are both snippets so I'm off to the Playground to see what mischief everyone is up to.

Octopi and friends

You may have seen my previous post here about Octopus for Preemies. On Friday last week I had the delightful opportunity to deliver a batch of Octopals (not made by me) on behalf of Octopus for a Preemie to the Neonatal Unit at Frimley Park Hospital. I also had a tour of the Unit and saw some of the very tiny babies who will be the recipients.

The staff were over the moon with them, and I'm looking forward to delivering the next batch next month. The photo shows the Senior Sister and Neonatal sister with me. If you would like to know more and get involved, the badge on the right will take you to the official Facebook group.
