A Digital Layout

For my Australia album I am doing mainly traditional paper pages but I'm also adding one or two digital ones, especially where I want to include a lot of photos.

I created this page in MDS, unfortunately after Stampin' Up finally introduced it to the UK they have now discontinued it completely. I was only just beginning to get the hang of it after I found the MDS Monday challenge site where I had joined in a few times. However one of the DT Beth has continued to post sketches on her personal blog " Beth's Digital Cuts" and I used one of her sketches from last week to create this page. The flowers were the nearest I could get to poppies!

MDS Monday

I've been having another play with MDS following the sketch on MDS Monday. I've gone for a clean and simple look for this page.
Having tried out various different papers and embellishments I now have now idea what I finally used! I do know tough that the background colour is Bermuda Bay which perfectly matched my outfit!

DSC #96 - All About the Boys

Good Morning all. A really quick post from me today as I've just realised I hadn't scheduled or even written a post for today's Digitally Sweet Challenge which is All About The Boys and I've got to go out in a few minutes!
Our sponsor this week is Lunagirl  who gave us some  great images to work with.

I have kept mine very simple as I decided on this occasion less was definitely more. This week for a change I have created the layout in My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up! I cropped the photo so the white background was removed, added a blue mat, a red sailing ship and the quote at the top. Oh and some grungy lines around the photo. The rest was simply a background paper. If you would like to try MDS you can download a free 30 day trial HERE

MDS Monday - Project Life

There is a new challenge at MDS Monday and as I am using it as my "tutor" for MDS I have been playing again. This week they are asking for a Project Life style layout, using either the Project Life downloads or a photobook layout to create your own.
I used a photobook layout with elements from Retro Fresh which has "card" type embellishments.

MDS Monday - Scrap Sketch Challenge

Gosh two posts from me in one day!!

I have been having another play with MDS. The trouble is that although there are lots of papers, stamps and embellishments with the initial download - I want more everytime I have a play!

I'm finding it quite useful though to  have a challenge to go to for inspiration. So I'm joining in again with the MDS Monday Scrap sketch challenge.

Another MDS project!

I decided to play with the MDS Monday challenge again! This time the sketch was a card.  I've changed the colours quite a few times before I ended up with this.

I'm still not entirely happy with it but hey it's made me play again! I've just realised I've forgotten the greeting!

MDS Challenge and A Trip to Birdworld.

I have used Craft Artist digital scrapbooking software for some time now but when we were able to get MDS here in the UK I had to try it. Up till now I have only used it a few times doing some very basic stuff.I found it quite difficult as obviously it works in a totally different way to CA. Other people seemed to find it easy so I decided to have another go at using it, and providentially found a MDS challenge site. This has given me the incentive to persevere! So for my first attempt at the challenge I scrapped a page of a recent visit with the grandchildren to Birdworld. It is still a bit basic but I did learn how to change colours, punch and colour fill letters and align them.

I definitely need to buy more download kits though to increase my choices of what to use! So here goes mu first MDS Monday Challenge entry.

Digitally Sweet Challenge #78

This week at Digitally Sweet we have a photo to inspire you.
  Linked to www.apple.com

I took it rather literally and went for multi coloured balloons and a bright sentiment.

Now normally do all my digital creating in CraftArtist 2 but as I also have Stampin' Up!'s  MDS I thought it was time I tried to get to grips with it. I suppose because I'm used to how Craft Artist works I have struggled a bit with MDS as it works differently. I do like the fact that you can colour the stamps as though with a marker pen  as in the sentiment I used above.  As it is above it is 100% digital and if I just printed it off would be a flat card. However it lends itself to being printed multiple times and decoupaging the balloons and present up.

Don't forget to visit the challenge and look at all the other inspiration there and come and join in. We'd love to see your digital creations.

The Male Room - Colour Challenge

The challenge in The Male Room this week is a colour one. The colours to be used are  green, blue and brown.  It took me a while to decide what to use for this and eventually decided the Clockworks set would be good. However I don't own it so MDS to the rescue! After I had printed the main image in white card  I added some splotches with the Gorgeous Grunge set. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Banners set and cut with the matching framelit. The blue mount for the banner was made by drawing round the outside of the framelit and cutting out by hand. Some linen thead and a blue mat completed the card.

Don't forget to pop over to the challenge to see more inspiration from my fellow design team members.

Halloween Boxes and MDS

I don't normally do any Halloween cards etc as its not as big over here in the UK aas it is in the States so I don't own any Halloween papers or stamps. But this year I decided to send some sweets to my grandsons as they get involved in it through school and nursery.  Now I could have just put them in an envelope and posted them but where's the fun in opening that. The Stampin' Up!  boxes were the perfect size to hold two nets of pumpkins and google eyes!! So I set to printing off some papers and images from MDS and decorating the boxes and here they are.

And the great thing about MDS is that you can make the images any sze you want!

My Digital Studio Card

Now that MDS has gone live in the UK I thought it was time to have a proper play with it.  So far I have had a few goes just to see what is in it but not actually made much. Today i decided to make a card rather than a scrapbook page and this is what I came up with.
