Dynamic Duos #77 and Thank You

Dynamic Duos have a bold and cheery colour combo this week, Real Red and Bermuda Bay. I decide to have a change from Christmas cards as that seems to be all I've been making recently - must have nearly got enough now!

I did find this colour combination a bit tricky but eventually came up with this as a thank you card. You never know I might need it after Christmas!!

Card Recipe: Cardstock Bermuda Bay and Real Red
Ink pads: Real Red and Bermuda Bay
Stamp Set: Oh Hello.

Spect-acular card!

I was excited last week to be a Dynamic Darling with this card. Thank you ladies!

This week the challenge at Dynamic Duos is to use Basic Grey and one other colour. I chose Real Red.   The stamp is one of the single stamps that Stampin' Up! are offerring called Spect-acular.

I was very pleased when we got this stamp in the UK as I had admired a lot of cards in Blogland that had been made with it when it came out in the US. I highlighted one pair of specs by colouring them red and adding Crystal Effects to the lenses. I have used the sketch from this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches and quite a lot of snippets (all the red card!) so will go for a play at the Playground as well. It must be my turn on the slide now!!

Recipe:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Readl Red
DSP: Basic grey paper stack (just retired)
Stamps: Spect- acular single stamp, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Markers: Real Red, Basic Grey
Other: Ribbon border punch, Jewellry tag punch (retired) card candy(non SU from stash)

Swallowtail and Dynamic Duos Number Two.

After finishing the previous card I had a stamped image that I'd smudged the colour over the lines on and lots of card scraps too. So rather than bin the image and add the cardto my overflowing box of scraps I decided to use them ther e and then. I cut the butterly out so getting rid of the smudge then played around for a bit with the card and came up with this.

I think I like this one better than the first! I'm entering it into Dynamic Duos as well - although I'm not sure I can enter two but couldn't see anything that said I couldn't, and as it is all scraps apart from the card base I'm going to pop along to Pixie's Playground too. Wienerhoneymooners has also reminded me that CAS-ual Fridays challenge is "over the edge". So I am going to rush over there too.

Recipe:

Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Naturals Ivory
Stamp: Swallowtail
Ink: Black Stazon, Tangerine Tango
Other: Clear embossing powder, flower embossing folder(non- SU) Oval framelits

Swallowtail and Dynamic Duos.

It has been a few weeks since I played along at Dynamic Duos but this week seem to have found some time despite having had visitors The colours this week are Cajun Craze and Tangerine Tango and I immediately thought of butterflies with these colours.

I have used the beautiful large Swallowtail stamp, stamped in black and clear embossed. That way there's no unintentional black specks! I sponged the colour on as I liked the effect better than colouring it with markers.
I decorated the inside too.

Recipe:

Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Tangering Tango and Very Vanilla
Stamp: Swallowtail, Papillon Potpourri
Ink: Black Stazon, Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze
Other: Crochet trim, tangerine tango satin ribbon (retired), scallop trim border punch, scallop trim corner punch, clear embossing powder

Dynamic Duos-and Triple Time Stamping.

I have been wanting to try triple time stamping for a while and decided that this week's Dynamic Duos challenge would work well. (Or at least in my mind it did!) The colours this week are a pretty combo of pink and brown.

So I set about using the Elements of Style set which is retiring.  Naughty me has only just got it but it will be one I keep as I think ist is really pretty. Unfortunately Blushing Bride doesn't seem to show up too well on Very Vanilla, either that or my ink pad is a bit dry - which is possible as I have had it a few years. Might just have to treat myself to a new one as the new foam pads are much juicier. So I'm afraid you are going to have to look VERY closely to see the stamping.

Less is More meets Dynamic Duos!

he theme this week at Less is More is paper piercing. I've never been very successful with this technique so decided to keep it really simple!  I stamped the border from the Madison gardens set in indigo blue and outlined it with a row of holes top and bottom, using my Tim Holtz ruler.
I then decided to add a scored line and another row of piercing. Bad mistake because the ruler slipped - so disguised it by adding a sentiment on top! I added some punched out flowers and a bit of bling. After I had finished I discovered that Dynamic Duos this week was "monochrome using Island Indigo and Pool Party. How serendipity was that?

Card: Island Indigo, Pool party, Whisper White
Stamp set: Madison Gardens, A Little Greeting
Ink: Island Indigo
Other: Itty Bitty flower punch, rhinestones, word window punch.

Dynamic Duos Black Tie Week

The Dynamic duos challenge this week is to use River Rock and Black with a dessert option of brads. As I needed to make a male card I thought this colour combo would suit nicely. I stamped the football randomly on black card with Versamark and then clear embossed them. I added a strip of black dotty ribbon and the sentiment tag stamped in black on river rock card. Although it doesn't show up very well in the photo this was mounted on a card blank made from river rock to co-ordinate. The final touch was a football stamped in black on white, cut out and mounted with a dimensional.

Stamp sets used: Goal, Happiest Birthday Wishes.

Dynamic Duos Challenge

The colour combo on the Dynamic Duos challenge this week is Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi. I neede to make a congratulations card for a friend so chose to use it for the challenge. It's a very quick and easy card to make. I used the Everything Eleanor stamp set ( as it was already on my desk!) The small flowers are single layered and the larger one decoupaged to make it stand out. I seem to be short on stamps that say "congratulations" other than very small ones - so used the only other one I've got from the Perfect Punches set. I must remedy this shortfall on my next order!!!

Dynamic Duos Monochrome challenge

The Dynamic Duos Challenge this week is Monochrome and the colours they have chosen are crumb cake and early expresso. I have used the sketch from the Less is More challenge and the lovely new stamp set from Stampin' Up - Reason to Smile. Hopefully I have managed to put the comment button back as it was apparently missing last week! No idea why though. I'll be back tomorrow with another card made with this set.

Dynamic Duos Challenge

Last night was card club but didn't go as I'd broken a tooth and didn't feel very sociable. But I did make the card I'd planned on doing! The theme ar Dynamic Duos this week is to use Black and Poppy Red. For this card I used The Open Sea again and the frameabilities. As I wanted a layer of black between the image and the red I made a faux frameability by drawing round the die used for the image and cutting it out with scissors.

Just in Time - I hope!!

Just in time I hope for the Dynamic Duo's challenge!  Although the challenge is posted on a Saturday  it closes on a Thursday and then there's the time difference to work out!!! This week the colours to use were Pool Party and So Saffron. I have used So Saffron cardstock for the base card and Attic Boutique DSP and have now just noticed that they actually cooerdinate with Daffodil Yellow- Ooops! The Triple Treat flower was stamped out 3 times in Pool party and So Saffron inks then cut out and layered up.Very simple but I'm quite pleased with the result.
