HLS Christmas June

Welcome to the Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge. As I said in my previous post this will be my last  DT card for the challenge.

Normally I would have gone with the  optional twist but I couldn't find anything in my stash with tinsel. So instead I used a new Simon Says stamp and die set and a new Paper Rose die for the sentiment.

The sentiment and red layer are red glitter paper, and red stickles were added to the baubles.
There's a whole heap of lovely inspiration on the challenge blog.I’m also sharing at NBUS challenge.

HLS Christmas in April

Welcome back to the Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge. As always it is Anything Goes but the optional twist this month is Under the Tree.

I'm not sure whether this fits the theme or is just a tree! I found this tiny stamp in my box of Christmas NBUS. Please remind me that I do NOT need to buy any more Christmas stamps!) I think it was a fairly old magazine freebie.

It started out as a very CAS card, but I had to add the bling as the black stars did nothing for me.

Somehow I doubt that I'll ever use it again!
There's a whole heap of inspiration on the challenge blog from my fellow teamies. Why don' you join in and get a head start on those Christmas cards - you know it makes sense!

Non Traditional Colours

This month the CAS Christmas Challenge wants non-traditional colours. Now I'm not a fan of non- traditional colours for Christmas, pink snowflakes just don't do it for me!  But I decided to play along anyway. I had recently rediscovered some metal stencils, originally bought to use with embossing paste and decided to use one of the. but with inks.

I used Distress Oxides in Cracling Campfire, Cracked Pistachio and Wilted Violet. I then embossed a small panel with a snowflake embossing folder (Cuttlebug I think) and matted it onto some coppery foil card. I cut the sentiment out of the same card using a SU die. Even though I said I don't like non -traditional colours. I do quite like this! I'm also sharing with Christmas Kickstart challenge, Let's Squash It and Little Red Wagon

Embossed Christmas Tree

Well this card for CAS Mix Up was as difficult to make as my last two! I have never been successful embossing with dies as the card has always cut in places. This time was no exception with my Grand Caliber. So I dug out my Big Shot which I rarely use and it worked a dream.

I nked the die with Versamark so that I could add colour as well. I wish I'd gone with gold embossing powder now instead of green.

The die is an old one from Simon Says Stamp and has only been used a couple of times before as the diecuts are a bit fiddly to glue.
I'm also sharing this at CAS Christmas and Make My Monday.

I have used a SU stamp of Christmas trees which I stamped and embossed in silver, although it looks more grey in the photo. The did some more stamping in DI Bundled Sage, to make it look like more trees in the background.  I stamped the sentiment in red and clear embossed it to make it pop! The edge of the image is finished with silver peeloffs from my very old stash.
I hope you'll be able to join in with us this time.

Oh Christmas Tree !

Welcome to another challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz, where we are looking for your masculine creations.
I have used a very old Christmas tree stamp that I bought about 10 years ago and never really got on with. I was very new to stamping then.  It's still not the best stamp to use!

I stamped it in green and clear embossed it. As I made it some time ago, before my house got too chaotic I can't remember which green I used, and can't get at the card to have a look!  The bow is coloured with gold Wink of Stella. The image is mounted on green holographic card, again very old, and the sentiment die cut from the same card. The backing paper is actually foiled vellum from SU last year,. The trees are ideal for adding the glue!

Hope to see you joining in with us.

" Something beginning with T "

the weeks are really flying by as it's already time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. This time the challenge is "Something beginning with T" and as I was in full Christmas card making mode, it had to be  Christmas trees!

I used the new SU stamp set and matching dies Peaceful Pines. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.  Please do pop over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the DT have made.

Oh Christmas Tree at Cardz 4 Guyz

Well the sore throat I had at the end of last week eventually morphed into a streaming cold, so not much crafting was done.Fortunately I had already made my DT card for Cardz 4 Guyz

I stamped and embossed the trees and stars in gold then ran the edges of the card along the Versamark ink pad and dipped them in the embossing powder to give a distressed look. The sentiment was stamped and embossed on vellum and wrapped aroung the panel. Easy peasy!
