Spooky monsters

This is my last post as GDT on the Lasting Memories challenge site. I have really enjoyed making these layouts. This week the challenge is Monsters. Did you know that October 25th was originally called Frankenstein Friday? I certainly didn't!

This is an old photo of my two grandsons dressed up for Halloween. I printed the monsters out from a
Craft Artist digi kit then fussy cut them out. I don’t think they’ll be doing any partying this year as Covid numbers are still rising here.

Pumpkins

I can't believe that we have got to the fourth week of my GDT spot at Lasting Memories. It really has gone quickly. This week the challenge is called Pumpkin Spice. We want to see pumpkins of course and some glitter to represent the spice. It's on the pumpkins although it doesn't show up.

When we were on our trip there were pumpkins everywhere, and this garden centre was no exception. I looked really pretty with all the pumkins, scarecrows and chrysanthemums.  And the hot apple cider donuts were delicious!

Fright night

This week's challenge at Lasting Memories is to have a moon somewhere on your layout, either in the photo or on the paper.

I had no photos with a moon that were suitable to scrap so I went with Halloween and some atmospheric paper. The paper, stickers and title all came from Sunshine Scrapbooking.

Pretty in pink

This is my second post as GDT at Lasting Memories. Challenge ~518 is for Breast Cancer Awareness so we are looking for layouts that are monochromatic pink. I used a photo taken at my wedding of my husband's two great-nieces.

I found this very pretty paper in the DCWV stack Garden Party. The rose is raised and shiny IRL. The butterflies are also from the same stack.

The weather here for the last two days has been very wet, perfect crafting weather. Typically though I haven’t been able to make the most of it. On Friday I managed to pull a muscle in my back when I took something off a kitchen shelf. I didn’t think much of it at the time but by yesterday was in agony and spent most of the day lying down. Of course it didn’t start to hurt till the chiropractor had closed for the weekend! Today it’s only really comfortable sitting leaning back in a chair or lying down. Not very easy to craft like that!

Fall

My goodness . two posts from me in one day - whatever next!

I'm delighted to have been asked to be a GDT on Lasting Memories. My first make is for challenge #517 Fall.

I used a photo from our trip to the States back in 2010. The papers are all out of my scraps drawer and the leaves were cut from scraps of card on my Cameo. You might be able to read the journalling if you enlarge the picture. And as it is all snippets I'm sharing this at the Playground - socially distancing of course!

Into the USA

Well we've travelled from Canada to the USA now and are in the pretty town of Bennington. This is the last sketch of the month over at Lasting Memories.

There's been a couple of stops on the way that I've scrapped but not posted yet. I'm keeping them for another day, maybe when I have nothing else to post!

Another Lasting Memories Sketch

The third sketch at Lasting Memories is for two photos. They are quite small so I have made mine a bit bigger as I want the photos to be the focus of the page, not the papers and embellishments.

We had a boat trip on Lake Ontario and this is the view of the city from the lake.

Lasting Memories Fort George

Here's another scrapbook page using the third of this month's sketches on Lasting Memories.

The photos were taken at Fort George, Niagara on the Lake. I've done another layout of the town which I'll show in a later post.

Niagara Falls

This is my second layout for Lasting Memories July challenges. I used a sheet of paper depicting the Falls but I've covered most of it!
The boat was cut on my Cameo and was a little bit fiddly to put together. The weather that day was very grey, wet and cold but didn't really matter as we also got wet going under the Falls in the Maid of the Mist. A hot cup of coffee in a Burger Bar was very welcome!

Any One for Lunch?

I haven't done scrapbooking since I eventually finished my Australia album a few months ago. It's time to do the Canada/USA one - after all it's only 10 years since our trip! What spurred me on was a sketch I saw on Lasting Memories. So having found my photos and some suitable supplies, and a battle with my Cameo machine I finally came up with a layout.

This is the sketch:

and here is my layout.

Alice Views

I thought it was about time to show another Oz layout. I have had this one in drafts for quite a while but while doing a bit of blog hopping this evening I realised it would fit in with the challenge at Lasting Memories which is Elements of Nature.

The photos show views of Alice Springs from the Anzac Memorial. Although it is difficult to see here, the jacaranda trees were all out in bloom, so it looked like a blue haze in the distance.

Snowy Layout!

I have promised myself that I will do more scrapbooking this year. I haven't done much in the way of paper layouts since the class I went to folded! But I have so many papers and 12 x 12 card to use and I see this as a way of using it and getting photos either out of boxes in the garage or off my computer. With this in mind I looked for some scrapping challenges to inspire me and what better than   "Lasting Memories" Scrapbook Layout challenge (sister site to Digitally Sweet) Fortunately their challenges now stay open for a month as otherwise I would have missed the deadline for this one. The theme was Spring or Winter and I chose to use a photo of the snow we had in January 2010. I can't decide whether I prefer the snow or this relentless rain and wind we're having. My heart goes out to all those people here in the UK who have been flooded and had to leave their homes. Fortunately the only thing that floods here (so far) is my garage and then only when the rain comes down so heavily that the drains can't cope with it. When that happens I have to make sure the freezer is unplugged or else I lose all my electricity as well! I plan on getting some sandbags to put against the inside of the big door to see if that helps.

However, back to the layout, I have used some blue 12 x 12 card (possibly Stampin' Up) a very pretty sheet of foiled paper from Papermania and some pearlised brownish card (DCWV I think).  Some gold spotty washi tape (SU), a last minute addition to break up the brown, glittery thickers alphas, a Martha Stewart snowflake punch  and The Festive Flurry stamp set and matching framelits from SU. I stamped the snowflakes in Versamark then heat embossed them with Pool Party Embossing powder Some stickles and a rhinestone finished it off. The journalling is on the tag underneath the photo.
