Four Panel Card

I decided to have a go at making a four panel card for Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge, as I need to build up my stock of birthday cards. The hardest part of making this was deciding what papers, card etc to use.

Eventually I went with just one paper rather than coordinating ones.

The flowers were die cut from a piece of brusho paper that was lurking in my scraps drawer using a Tim Holtz die set. The sentiment was cut from the same card as the card base and is a Concord and Ninth die set.

These are the snippets I used. The butterflies on the front are a Stampin Up punch. A few rhinestones finished it off.  So for the Butterfly challenge I have followed the card shape, theme and used three of the colours, Forest green, Fuschia (purple) and French Rose (pink)

Perfectly Cas May

My goodness it's the middle of the month already so time for the new challenge at Perfectly Cas.

This month we want to see repeat stamping, but remember to only use one third of the crd so that there is lots of white space.

I used some fairly old peg stamps from Cardio to stamp a floral panel across the card.

The sentiment is a Clarity stamp one.
There's lots of lovely makes on the challenge blog from my fellow DT memebers.

HLS Watercolour May

It's the start of May in Australia, although not quite here yet! So that means it's time for the new HLS Wateercolour Challenge.

As always it is Anything Goes. I decided to use a Simon Says Stamp image that I hadn't used before, and chose a pastel colour palette. I smooshed the background with Speckled Egg and Scattered Straw Distress Ink.,then fussy cut the image.

I added it to a card blank with an aperture to frame it nicely.
Do check out the rest of the DT makes and I hope to see you joining in.

HLS Watercolour Blue Daisies

Hi and welcome to the Happy Little Stampers Watercolour challenge for February. This year there is no optional twist, so Anything Goes!

I thought I'd make something floral. To start with I stmped and embossed the flowers in white then I painted water generously onto the card and then dropped in some blue, yellow and a tiny drop of red which I let spread across the paper.

I painted the petals with a stronger mix of the blue and added some orange to the centres. I added a few orange splatters to tie them in but the picture looks as though they are just mistakes! The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Clair Twilight.
Do check out the wonderful inspiration on the challenge blog from my fellow team members and hopefully you will join in.

Botanical for Happy Little Stampers

It's the start of the month so time for the first of the monthly challenges at Happy Little Stampers.

I always to try to make my DT card with the option if possible and this gave me the opportunity to use a new stamp from Woodware called Flower Garden.

I stamped the image with Gina K amalgam ink which is suitable for both watercolouring and alcohol markers. To colour it I used some watercolour crayons that have been languishing unused in a drawer. No sentiment as I don't know what I'm going to use it for yet, but I think it will make a nice birthday card. I had to add a small die cut dragonfly as I managed to smudge the ink!

Pretty Flowers!

The challenge at Make My Monday is a colour challenge. We'd like you to use these colours to make your card . You can also use neutrals. I thought the roses lookes so pretty I went with a floral card.

I was wanting to use my new dies from Tim Holtz that have been sitting on my desk for a few weeks, lorals 3 and Garden Greens.

I cut all the flowers out in each of the pinks, then played around with different combinations as I put them together. The frames are a Julie Hickey set of dies. It's not often I use dies as the focal part of my card but I really like how this one turned out.

Perfectly CAS!

I'm delighted to tell you that there is a brand new challenge blog callled Perfectly CAS, which hs been created by the lovely Kylie of Happy Little Stampers. I'm even more delighted to say that I am on the design team for this great new challenge. It is a simple concept, by only using one third of the card you will create a Perfectly CAS card!

I used a chevron stencil to create the background - I think it was a freebie! The flower is from a Simon Says Stamp set called Daisy Bouquet which I coloured with pencils,

I do hope you will check out the rest of the DT makes and  join in this challenge.

Pretty Papers.

It's Thursday and time for the next challenge at Cardz for Galz. The title is Pretty Papers and we want to see 2 or more papers on your card.. Now I have to confess I didn't read the challenge properly and made my card with just one pretty paper. It was only when I came to post it that I realised I should have used two.

Anyway a quick search through the rest of the paper pack and I found a complementary one which I was able to add.

Do try and join in with us and visit the challenge blog for more inspiration and there's also a DT call !

Floral Thank you.

The new challenge at Cardz for Galz is "Rubber Stamping" lots of choice there for you.

I have chosen to make a one layer card using a NBUS Uniko stamp set.I coloured the flowers in with watercolour pencils. The card is textured so it has a nice finish to it.

Make sure you check out all the inspiration on the challenge blog.

Pink Floral Display

There is some super blog candy over on Crafty Goings On blog - 72 Copic Ciao markers!!! All you have to do is post a comment linking a card with a coloured in stamped image or download. If you use a download from Charmed Cards you get two chances. Unfortunately I have only just got back from holidays so have had to use a card I made just before I went away so I can only have one chance. Here's my entry. I have used the Hobby Art floral display stamp again - I really like this stamp - with the smaller version of it for the background.
