Less is More - Sewing!

Well I've finally managed to find time to enter some challenges again! This is my entry for the Less is More challenge which this week is - SEWING! I got this set of Spellbinder dies in a bundle from C & C but was doubtful whether I would ever use them. Perfect for this challenge! The "stitches" are a Hot off the Press stamp set which I have had for ages (and which C & C had on this morning would you believe!!) . Thread is some white Bakers twine which I coloured with an ink pad (a little bit messy to do) and the reel and scissors are from theSpellbinders set. I have to confess though that the scissors are covering a smudge as the twine was not quite dry enough when I added it.  I am quite pleased with the result and now I've used this set I can see me using it again. Ideas are beginning to take shape!!

Lazy days

Hereis another card I made for the monthly challenge at Little Claire's.

This time I used the Little Claire Designs Lazy Days stamp (I think that is what it is called) , coloured with Promarkers . I stamped it on a circle cut with nesties and mounted it onto a scalloped circle of mauve pearlescent card. The paper is some that I've had since I first started cardmaking and it is from a Hot Off The Press paper pad. Some matching card candy  finished it off.

Less is More - Week 21 Sketch

I'm afraid I chickened out of last week's challenge but this week's is much more to my looking. having said that though I must have a touch of "crafter's block" as it has taken me three days to come up with something quite simple! Part of the problem was that I decide I should use some of the bits that were sitting on my table! Anyway this is the sketch

and this is my card

I used some papers that were on my desk,  the plain one is from HOTP and the spotty one is making memories. I originally wanted to use the other side which has pink flowers on but it was much too busy. The butterflies are from Stampin Up's Sale-a-bration Bliss set.

Tilda with Roses

I made this for the Crafty Cow forum challenge I set this month which was to use 1 stamped image, a piece of lace and some flowers. As I had just got this Tilda stamp I wanted to use that and the flowers fitted perfectly. I also used the sketch on the Papertake Weekly challenge. The papers were HOTP.

Purple Swirls

Stamp Something are asking for "clean and simple" this week. I stamped directly onto the card with Versafine Imperial Purple using a flourish stamp from Graphicus. Then added a ribbon and a sentiment from a set by HOTP.

Black Magic Technique

I saw a demonstration on the internet this week for the " black magic technique" so thought I'd try it and managed to incorporate it into the Monday challenge on Docrafts. The technique is to stamp an image in white onto black card then colour it with pencils and outline in white gel pen. You need to use a stamp that is blocked - not just an outline stamp. The one I used is a gerbera from Funstamps and has been in my stash for ages. The papers are HOTP and Basic Grey Two Scoops.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

This is the card I have made for Katherina's sketch on this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge. I must say this sketch taxed the brain cells a bit! I started off thinking I would use the fairy image on some very pale lemon card, but somewhere along the way it all became pink and aubergine! Don't ask me how!! The papers are HOTP Vintage papers and the stamp is from Trimcraft- one I bought yesterday on a visit to the Country Market at Kingsley where there is a Craft Central. We had really gone for the pick your own and garden centre. I did buy some plants for the garden as well though.

Fairy Princess Cards

Last week The Craft Cow demonstrated these fantastic new Fairy Princess Stamps from Redhotbed on Moovision. Well needless to say I succumbed and bought the set which the postman delivered on Thursday. Finally managed to find time to make a couple of cards with them. One is Christebella and the one with the rose is Rosetta. I used K & Co and HOTP papers. Christebella is watercoloured with Sakura Stardust pens and Rosetta is stamped then watercoloured by just using water and drawing the ink in. The wings and stars have a spot of clear glitter glue to make them sparkle.

This Week's Friday Sketchers Challenge, Sketch 4

Well, I don't know where the time has gone but haven't had much time for crafting this week. So far have only managed to do two cards. This one is my entry for the Friday Sketchers Challenge.

I have used HOTP papers plus a freebie paper and the stamp is from Hampton Art.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - One for the Fella's!

Papertake Weekly's Challenge this week was for a man's card. "We have Fathers Day coming up, here in the UK so this weeks challenge is to make a mans card! The card can be for any occasion as long as it's for a man! lol" I used the sketch for the Docrafts bank holiday challenge as a guide. The papers are from HOTP, the "Take it Easy" stamp was a freebie on the last issue of Craft Stamper and the watch stamp is from Artifacts.
