Patchwork bag

Back in January Alison showed a sweet little patchwork bag on her blog, followed by a tutorial. I had intended having a go at one after my holiday but it hadn't happened as I couldn't lift the sewing machine on to the table with my sprained arm.(I had ordered the lovely Comfort Cafe fabric from SU so was ready to go!) I was also planning on buying a new sewing machine sometime this year as my trusty Elna Lotus is now over 40 years old and still going strong but really is not too keen on thick fabric. The Make It show was on in Farnborough last weekend and my eldest son kindly took me as I was still not able to drive and I came home with a lovely new sewing machine!! So what better than to have a play and make the bag. (I did have a quick practice first on a piece of fabric cut from a dust sheet(lol). And here it is - the bag that is-

I think it will make a nice birthday gift filled with some travel sized toiletries for a friend.
