This year unbeknown to us till we arrived there was a cycling festival in Gorey which meant that for three days the roads were closed. So we spent them just being lazy and having walks along the seafront, watching some of the cycling and sitting in the sun. A lot of the action was right outside our hotel. I'm quite proud of this action shot as I'd never used this feature on my camera before.
This was the start of the round the island ride - not a race - lots of cycling clubs were taking part including a lot of children. This was taken out of our bedroom window.
One of the teams warming up before racing - some of this team ate dinner the night before in the bistro attached to the hotel where we were eating.
This is the normal view from the hotel when the tide is in.
On Sunday we climbed up to the castle behind the hotel and sat in the sun looking over to France. It was the clearest I had seen it for a number of years. (Note: I did have the camera on zoom!)
On Tuesday we took the bus to St Catherine's Point as we'd never gone up there before. The weather was a bit dull and there was a strong wind blowing - certainly blew all the cobwebs away! And this is what we found.
A fantastic sand sculpture and some scarlet pimpernel growing along the breakwater.
Well hope you've enjoyed seeing what I was getting up to last week- and hopefully I might manage some crafting soon - unless the garden beckons again!
