After dozens of blood tests, x-rays, scans etc the doctors have finally decided that Roy has encephalitis. He's being pumped full of antibiotics, antivirals and painkillers and has now just left intensive care and is on a ward. Thankfully he can now speak again and is coherent but is still immobile. His right hand has still to be sutured but that probably won't happen for another week, and he has to have another lumbar puncture. He's also getting fed up so must be feeling a bit better. His daughter is still here with me so at least have company and don't have time to sit and brood! I could do with a decent night's sleep though.

  1. Oh Sue, I've been wondering how things are, so thank you for the update. What a fright but thank goodness they now have found out what it is. Here's hoping Roy's recovery continues - and that you get a decent night's sleep soon! Keeping you in my thoughts.

  2. Well at least you know what is what and hopefully things will improve rapidly, nice for you to have a nit of company at this worrying time.

  3. Hi Sue, So pleased you have posed an update. Better still that they have at last found the problem and can now treat it. Hopefully you will see improvement every day. It sounds like Roy is feeling a bit better! Now Sue, you must try to get some decent nghts sleep. Please keep us updated as we are all still thinking of you. Big hugs, Carol S.xx

  4. Oh Sue, thanks for the update. I have been thinking of you both and hoping he was getting better. I'm glad you are not going through this alone. It always helps to have someone to talk to and be with. Sending prayers for his continued recovery and for you to get some rest.

  5. Hi Sue . . . thanks for the update. Now they know what's up, I hope they can help Roy get better quickly. Good news that he's out of intensive care. Also pleased you have some company. Wishing you a peaceful night's sleep.

    Hugs, Sarn xxx
