First of all I'd like to wish all my US bloggy friends a very happy Thanksgiving! I'd also like to extend a warm welcome to my new followers, Barb (sorry I can't find a blog to link for you) and Sylvia-Ann.
The card I have to show you today is for the Less is More challenge which is asking for "Numbers". I didn't want to use 25 for Christmas and had no suitable birthdays or anniversaries coming up, so after some thought decided to go with this:
The stamp is a retired SU one and thesentiment was computer generated. Originally I intended the image and sentiment to be one layer but I managed to stamp the tree just off centre but it looked far too obvious for me to leave as it was, so some dies were brought into use. I gold embossed the image and coloured it with copics. I continued the sentiment into the inside with the stamp that came from the set, and some additional pears.
That's it from me today - off to close the curtains and shut out the gloom even though it's only just 4pm.
Oh this really is lovely Sue! And clever to use the 1st Day of Christmas words - along with great colouring too.
ReplyDeleteBarb's blog is http://farawaycrafts.blogspot.co.uk/ by the way. Sorry I can't embed the link here, I know it can be done but haven't got my thinking head on today! Curtains all closed here too - what a dull day!
Hugs

A very clever idea to use "and a partridge in a pear tree" as your number. Tour card is very pretty and fresh looking. A lovely Christmas card. Thank you for welcoming me to your blog. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteBrilliant card and a gorgeous design. I dislike winter short days and long nights!! Hugs, Carol S.xx
ReplyDeleteWas nice and sunny and bright for a while earlier, but then went all gloomy and overcast and I thought we were in for a storm!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the gloom! Never mind it will be midwinter soon and the nights will start to draw back out!

That was a lucky save which we would never have picked up on. It looks like it was meant to be in layers. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteIt looks as if you designed it this way and it's just lovely too! Great sentiment!
ReplyDeleteGreat to bring the 12 days of Christmas into our number challenge. Beautiful CAS card, Sue.

I do like this fat partridge perched in his golden tree. Very clever use of this image, and love the computer sentiment too. It's quite CAS, and very lovely indeed & great to have dies come to the rescue! TFS & Have a good week. (I don't like it when the twilight draws in so early). Hugs
