LIM 249 Colour Challenge

The colour challenge at Less is More this week is to use the colours of "Fire". I immediately thought of autumn leaves and started making a card on Sunday.
After stamping lots of leaves my mojo went for a walk so I didn't finish the card until yesterday  - then I saw that lots of others had used leaves as well. I thought of doing something else but as my crafting time is very limited these days and the creative juices seem to have gone into hiding, decided to stick with the original plan. I used SU's Vintage Leaves and I think the background is from the You've Got It set. I added some gold embossed splats to the background as well. The leaves are actually shiny as I covered them with Versamark and clear embossd them. I think my photography skills, which were never very good, have also gone for a walk.

Roy is making slow progress but every day he can do a little more. He does get very frustrated though and very irritable, which is so unlike him. Unfortunately encephalitis can cause changes in personality, so I'm hoping it is just the frustration which will get less as he improves.  I do find some time to craft but blogging has taken a bit of a back seat I'm afraid.  And some days I'm just too tired to do very much at all.

I'm also going to join in at the Playground as the leaves were snippets of white card.

  1. Hi Sue

This card is so lovely. Those SU leaves look great and I'm glad to see you've managed to get a little crafting done.

Keep your chin up mate. Fingers crossed Roy will continue to make good progress and be back to his old self again.

    Hugs, Sarn xxx

  5. Wow!! Loving this stunning creation. Colours and design are gorgeous.
My heart goes out to you Sue. It must be so hard for you both to have your lives turned upside down. Slow progress is better than none, but still frustrating. Big hugs, Carol S.xx

  7. This is a simply stunning card! Your Mojo hasn't deserted you at all Sue. Just that other things occupying your mind - it's good that you can find a little time to craft - even if it is only for a little while it's good therapy for you - and you then can cope better - sending you a big hug and hope Roy continues to make steady progress. x

  9. Yes, we see a lot of leaves adorning cards this time of year, but few are as well done as this card, Sue! I am swooning over this design and pinning it!! I'm so glad to hear that Roy is doing a bit better and I hope that continues so he is less grumpy. Nothing brings one down and dampens the creative spirit more than having a spouse who is ill - worse, one who is irritable! Hang in there, my friend. You are a trooper!! Huge hugs, Darnell

  12. I'm glad you went with your original idea as this card is so pretty. The leaves are beautiful and I love the splatters and colors in the background. Don't worry about keeping up with blogging. I haven't had a lot of time to catch up either but I am thinking of you both. I'm glad there is improvement for Roy. It just takes so much time to get back again. Hang in there. Sending you prayers and hugs.

  13. Hi Sue!

I was positive I'd commented on this fabulous card - so fresh yet warm at the same time. Tricky to achieve!

Hoping that time is the answer for Roy - I suspect (as you do) that he's also quite frustrated about not being 100% yet.

Hope you make a point of coming to play again this coming week :)

    Hugs

    Di xx
