The ladies at Less is More are asking for a one layer card using geometric shapes! I went with hexagons and four shades of purple.
I masked off the card leaving a strip to stamp the hexagons on. It looked a bit unfinished with just the stamping so I drew two lines top and bottom of the panel to edge it.
I'm never terribly happy with my one layer cards, they always look a bit unfinished to me and invariably I end up cutting them down and adding a mat behind them. I may well do the same here!
And as I used purple will enter it as my 2nd entry over at the Allsorts challenge.

Your card looks very elegant Sue and perfect for the challenge too. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteI love the purple shades - really fab design and colours! If you do decide to mat it up later, the hexagon strip would look amazing popped up on foam pads as a narrow horizontal layer on a larger base. I really like it!
ReplyDeleteGreat card Sue, but know what you mean about one layer cards... Struggle to keep it to single layer too. Dies call and then becomes no longer a one layer card. :)

I love this card, Sue! I thought at first you'd used patterned paper for the panel. I hope you don't cut this one up - it's perfect as it is. :-) xx
ReplyDeleteI love these patterned hexagons - they look like a lovely patchwork quilt! The lines give the panel definition and I think it looks beautifully finished. Great to see you at Less is More :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks great to me, and I agree, adding the lines under the hexagons did add a nice finishing touch. I think it's a super one layer card, with a very crisp & CAS look. TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteSue you need not worry that your one layer card looks unfinished as it looks really great just as it is, don't alter it !!
ReplyDeleteYour hexagons look amazing in those soft colours and subtle patterns Sue. What a perfect card for the challenge.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this with us at Less is More.

This is lovely Sue, I love the colours that you've used :)X
ReplyDeleteLovely colours Sue - and those lines really finish the panel off, as you said.
ReplyDeleteShh, don't tell anyone, but often my one layers end up as panels too lol!
Thanks so much for taking part
