Christmas Birds

When Penny Black produced the stamp Ode to Christmas I thought it was lovely and had to have it. However I've only used it a couple of times as I found it just very difficult to get a good image.

But I decided to try again for the CAS Christmas Challenge that is asking for Christmas birds. I coloured the stamp with SU markers using my Misti. I'm still not very happy with it and suspect that it won't get used again.

  1. I love this stamp Sue (don't have it but love it!). I am no expert but a do you mist your stamp once you've markers and apply each colour separately? Sometimes I think it is a lot of trial and error as some stamps need different things!Anyway, your card looks fine to me!

  3. I think it's a beautiful CAS image, direct to stamp marking needs a little moisture either by breathing on the stamp before you stamp or misting as VIV mentioned. Misting gives a looser watercolour look. Still love the look of the image and thanks for joining us at CAS Christmas.

  4. I see what you mean, but the splotchy image gives it a cool organic look. Great CAS design, too. Thank you for joining us at CAS Christmas.

  5. Lovely colors used here - the image is a little undefined - maybe using the suggestions above - or just stamping it with ink? I love the colors that you used here and thank you for sharing with us at CAS Christmas!

  6. I love the colours you've used for this pretty bird and branch image, Sue! Hope you try with a different technique and it turns out better to your liking. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

  7. I have this pretty stamp and love it. Haven't tried to colour it tho! I just stamp it in black and use something else on the card for colour!
