Peace On Earth

This was a bit of an experiment. I found,  tucked away at the back of a drawer, a pack of watercolour cards. I stamped the image, a magazine freebie and NBUS with Ink 3 no colour ink. My idea was that it would just look as if it had been watercoloured.

However it just didn't look right to me. So I very carefully went round the outline with a grey Unipen. The sentiment from the same set of freebies was stamped in grey ink. That looked much better but I'm not sure I like the featureless faces. I really want to add eyes, nose and mouth, but think I'll try that out on a piece of scrap paper!

  1. It's a lovely image and lovely colouring but I see what you mean about the faces - I'd be scared to add any details. Thanks for playing along with us at HLS

  2. What a beautiful image that is. The coloring is lovely and it does have a watercolor look. The outline is a great idea.

  3. I agree with you, Sue. It's a beautiful sculptural image of the holy family, but I would want to add a couple of curved lines representing closed or downcast eyes. I'd prolly be too nervous to add anything more, but I believe you have the talent to do full faces! Great job using the found cards and I think the sediment is lovely. Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

  4. I love this CAS card! I know what you mean about featureless faces-they just don’t look quite right. But maybe it’s to make the focus on the whole image.

  5. A beautiful card Sue, but I know what you mean about the faces. I have a few stamps with blank faces and I always feel the need to add the features. Perhaps that's why I don't use them very often. xx

  7. That’s what I’d like - some peace on Earth! Fat chance of getting it tho!
Agree with other comments on here about the facial features. Just go for it cuz at the end of the day it’s only a piece of card you’ve lost if you don’t like the results. Be brave! X
