Pleated skirt fold

I've seen a number of cards on the Internet featuring these folds, with various names. I found a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and had a go at making one.
I used some scraps of retired SU paper and a butterfly that I had cut out some time ago and not used. The lace tape was also a scrap. In fact apart from the blank, everything was snippets.

Then I made a landscape one which took me a lot longer as I had to work out the measurements and my "maths head" wasn't working well!

Lots of snippets used so I'm off to the Playground to see what all the playmates are up to.

Sunday Scrapbooking

Today I have a double page layout to show you. I was given some Australia themed scrapbooking papers and embellishments at card club the Christmas after our trip to Oz. One of the papers was an old map which showed the telegrapg station that had been built at Alice Springs.

It made for a perfect two page layout showing photos of the telegraph station. I scanned and shrunk the information sheet to add to the page as the journalling.

Use Designer Paper in a CAS way!

That is the challenge at Less is More this week. I hadn't really thought of anything to make when the postman arrived with my April Simon Says Kit, which lent itself perfectly to the challenge.

I used one of the stamps and some of the sequins. The paper is snippets from my scrap box so I'm also going over to the Playground to see what everyone is doing there this week.

Another Sunday Scrapbooking!

Another Melbourne page for my Australia album.
The top two photos were the view out of our hotel room window, and the bottom one was one of the houses we passed on our evening tram tour.
Our first night dinner was served on this restaurant tram while it toured the city. A great evening!

Purple Dragon.

The challenge this week over at Less is More is Saints and Dragons. It certainly had me thinking as I had nothin in my stash that fitted the bill.
In the end I found a cut file on the Silhouette site which Icut out in white card then coloured with Copics. The colouring looks very patchy in the photo but not IRL. I stamped a green splotchy stamp from SU's You Got This to represent green smoke, added a speech bubble and I was done. After I'd finished i remembered I had some Papernation decoupage of a dragon and knight, oh well no doubt it will come in useful another day.

Butterflies.

WOW - two posts from me in one day!

Mrs A's butterfly challenge is to use teal and or texture. I think I've managed both with this card.  The die and

embossing folder were the freebie on the latest Diecutting Essential magazine. I cut the two butterflies out a second time and covered the with foil using the Minc. The Happy Birthday die was also a freebie on a Tattered Lace magazine. I actually thought the letters were joined together until I cut them - fortunately I'd put doublesided tape on the back before cutting them as they are very tiny! To make it easier to attach them reasonably straight I embossed the die onto the card so I had a faint outline to use to line the letters up.

As well as The Butterfly challenge I'm going to join in at Cuttlebug Mania who want butterflies and the Playground  as the teal card was a snippet.

Rudolph day April

Rudolph Day has come round again! I made another card with the January Simon Says kit.

I made this a little while ago following a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches but missed the challenge date. I think it's one I will use again. Why not join in at ScrappyMo's and builld up your Christmas stash.

Sunday Scrapbooking

I have quite a few more pages from my Australia album saved in drafts, so thought I'd show you two of them today.

Flowery Birthday

The Simon Says Stamp April kit has some very pretty images in it. I made these cards to add to my stash  as I am running very short of birthday cards.

In real life they are much brighter but my camera has made them look a bit wishy washy!

Clarity Stamp Challenge and Cas Mix Up

This month Clarity Stamp Challenge is asking for masking to be used. I decided to use the stencil that was the latest from the NDC, together with some stamps from previous months. there was lots of maskinf to make the hills and river and to have the girl sitting at the front. Originally I doodled round the circle but deidn't like it ao had to cut it off!
The "Dream" sentiment is heat embossed in white.

I'm also entering this into the CAS Mix up challenge who want stamping, stencilling and one other technique. Mine is the embossing and diecutting.
