Easter Fun

It is my turn to choose the theme at Make My Monday and I went for Easter Fun. My craft room is still in a state of chaos but I have got the laptop and printer set up now. So I went for a digital creation.

I used Craft Artist and some of their digikits to make this card.Such a shame that it is no longer available.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge

 It's time for the March Christmas challenge at Happy Little Stampers. I cant believe how fast this year is going already!

I made this in a bit of a rush to fit round the builders finishing and having new carpets laid. I knew that as soon as that happened I wasn't going to be be able to do any crafting as I would be too busy moving things from room to room to accomodate the carpet fitters! I have used a freebie die from a couple of years ago, for the main image. The snowflakes are a Tim Holtz set.  The white glitter card was out of my scrap box. I stamped the sentiment from HLS Christmas Joy in White then heat embossed it with some WOW embossing powder.

I hope by next month's challenge that I will be back in the house, in my new craft room and things will at long last be back to normal.

A Furry Friend!

It's time for a new challenge at Cardz for Galz. The theme is "Furry Friends"  I have made a fairly simple card. I found the 6x6 paper while i was looking for something suitable to use and rather liked the way it provided a frame.

The stamp is from a Kanban set bought a long time ago from QVC!. I thought the car looked a little haughty which is why I used this particular sentiment, which carries on  inside the card.

For this card I used a Little Claire stamp that I got when they used to do monthly kits. I used watercolour pencils to colour it in, then mounted it on black then onto a cream DL card blank.

Jungle Fun!

This week at Cardz for Guyz we have a sketch for you.

I cut out three circles from a panel of white card. Then I stamped the animals on some scraps of white, coloured them with Copics and fussy cut them. Fussy being the right word for the monkey!

I popped the three animals behind the holes and stamped some leaves to break up all the white. The stamp set was a magazine freebie some time ago and had sat uninked in my box of NBUS stash! The sentiment is from Uniko.

Messy card for a Teen!

The new challenge at Make My Monday is to use a messy background. Now I always think they look great when other people do them, but I'm never so sure about mine! Anyway I had a rummage through my box to see if I had anything ready made and found the last piece of a Brushos background created at the HLS retreat back in November.Having found it I then had to think of something to do with it! I decided a large sentiment was the way to go and dcided to emboss it with  a metallic green embossing powder. Needless to say it was a disaster - I just couldn't get a decent image. Back to the drawing board.

So I mounted it on to orange then cut a band of the same orange to cover up the disastrous embossing, stamped the sentiment in black, fortunately using the Misti as I had to stamp it three times before getting a clear print. Some enamel dots finished it off and it went on its way to Roy's great-nephew who has just turned thirteen!

I have chosen to make a one layer card using a NBUS Uniko stamp set.I coloured the flowers in with watercolour pencils. The card is textured so it has a nice finish to it.

Something beginning with L

Hi and welcome back to a new challenge at Cardz for Guyz, where this time we want to see something beginning with L. I discarded the obvious like lamb and lion and went for light bulb instead!

I found some nice yellow spotty paper to use as a background - I really need to use up some of the huge amount of papers I have. Then I matted everything on to black. The stamp set is from a Simon Says Stamp monthly kit.

Going round in Circles!

That sounds like me at the moment! I thought I had got most of my DT cards organised for the next few weeks, but I had completely forgotten this one! So it has been made in a bit of a hurry for the challenge at Make My Monday.

I die cut a circle out of the middle of a scrap of white card and backed it with another snippet of yellow. The sentiment was stamped using my trusty Misti, it is a very old SU stamp. The finishing touches were some brightly colored enamel dots.

I decided to use another NBUS item or two! The patterned stockings are stamped then diecut with the toe,heel and top added on top. The middle stocking I just die cut so I could add my heart.

The background expression is a Creative Expressions folder Twisted Holly. Im afraid I still haven't got back into my house so the photos have been taken on the kitchen worktop which is not the best background.
