Happy Watercolor and Less is More

The challenge this week at less is More is the dreaded One layer Card! However I actually quite like making these! I know - I must be odd!!  The new Happy Watercolor stamp set from the Spring/Summer mini is perfect for one layer cards.  I stamped the paint splotch (is that a word?) in four colours then stamped the flower on top in black. I added some extra depth by colouring with the matching marker pens and added glossy accents to the flowers to finish.

Stamp set: Happy Watercolor, Fiels Flowers (sentiment)
Inks:  Pistachio Pudding, So Saffron, Crisp Canteloupe, Calypso Coral, Black Stazon
Misc: Glossy Accents

You can order from my online shop at anytime  or email  if you prefer the personal touch .

  1. Delightful, makes a great (and very springlike) One Layer Card too

  2. beautiful card, ik like that background

  3. Such a pretty card. Great layout

  4. I must be odd too, then, because I love the one-layer challenges! Gorgeous card, I love the background & the way the colours reflect those of the main image.

  5. Wow, this is absolutely perfect! It jumped right out of my dashboard here - gorgeous colours, love it!!

    Hugs, Di xx

  6. WOW! Sue what a beautiful card. I just love those 'splotches' and Glossy Accents is my favourite addition on every card!

  7. I think splotch is a great word Sue... I know what you mean!
    Super card!
    Thanks so much

  8. Your card is great. It doesn't have the feel of a one-layer card because there is so much interest on the front. I love the look of one-layered cards but the feel is usually naked. I love that stamp set and what you've done with it.

  9. I absolutely love this card!

  10. Hi Sue

    A great card!

Love the watercolour background very much.

    Love Jules xx

  11. SO Lovely, love the effect yo have made with the different panels of water colors!!!

  12. This is so pretty, Sue! I love how you've stamped the flowers on the colored splotches! Very pretty!

  13. Oh I like this - LOVE the watercolouring!

  14. What a gorgeous card Sue - and no you're not odd, I love a one layer card too! Vicky x

  15. Super card. Love the background effect and colours.

  16. Wow, that is amazingly beautiful, Sue! It looks just like you had watercolored this by hand!! It's a winner in my book!! (I love OLCs, too, so I'll be an odd one with you! I was so bummed I didn't get a chance to play in the challenge this time.) Hugs, Darnell
