The challenge this week at less is More is the dreaded One layer Card! However I actually quite like making these! I know - I must be odd!! The new Happy Watercolor stamp set from the Spring/Summer mini is perfect for one layer cards. I stamped the paint splotch (is that a word?) in four colours then stamped the flower on top in black. I added some extra depth by colouring with the matching marker pens and added glossy accents to the flowers to finish.
Recipe:
Stamp set: Happy Watercolor, Fiels Flowers (sentiment)
Inks: Pistachio Pudding, So Saffron, Crisp Canteloupe, Calypso Coral, Black Stazon
Misc: Glossy Accents
Delightful, makes a great (and very springlike) One Layer Card too

I must be odd too, then, because I love the one-layer challenges! Gorgeous card, I love the background & the way the colours reflect those of the main image.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is absolutely perfect! It jumped right out of my dashboard here - gorgeous colours, love it!!

WOW! Sue what a beautiful card. I just love those 'splotches' and Glossy Accents is my favourite addition on every card!

I think splotch is a great word Sue... I know what you mean!

Your card is great. It doesn't have the feel of a one-layer card because there is so much interest on the front. I love the look of one-layered cards but the feel is usually naked. I love that stamp set and what you've done with it.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this card!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue

ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty, Sue! I love how you've stamped the flowers on the colored splotches! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh I like this - LOVE the watercolouring!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card Sue - and no you're not odd, I love a one layer card too! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteSuper card. Love the background effect and colours.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is amazingly beautiful, Sue! It looks just like you had watercolored this by hand!! It's a winner in my book!! (I love OLCs, too, so I'll be an odd one with you! I was so bummed I didn't get a chance to play in the challenge this time.) Hugs, Darnell
