Make My Monday - Vacation

Good morning everyone. It's time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and this week it's my turn to choose the theme. As we are just at the start of the school holidays it's that time of year when everyone is setting off for a few days - or longer if they're lucky- to recharge their batteries! So my theme is Vacation. So whether it's the beach, a " staycation", or travelling to distant climes the DT want to see your creations. Here's mine:

I really enjoyed creating this and it was so easy with all the new stamp sets. The sea was made using the strip stamp from Work of Art and the sky used the smaller paint splash randomly, stamping off first to give a more subtle effect. The little birds were doodled in after I'd put it all together as I had managed to get a small black smudge just above the ship's mast. On most cards I'd have added a butterfly - but it didn't seem to fit with this card (lol)!! The shells were stamped on snippets and mounted on dimensionals. That means I can go and visit Pixies Snippets Playground where Di always want us to use snippets.

Table built using Product Table Builder by The Crafty Owl - Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

  3. Great card and love the design. Boats are not for me, as I get sea sick on a puddle!! Hugs, Carol S.xx

  5. What a creative use of these stamps, Sue! I love the scene you created and the little birds really add lots of interest! LOL, much more realistic than a butterfly!

  6. I love the background - thought you were very painterly but amazed it was made with stamps ( so you're very stamperly!). The smudge was a happy accident as the birds are a great addition. Great card.
