Butterfly Birthday!

Happy New Year! A bit late I'm afraid! Sorry for my lack of posts just don't seem to have had time to blog even though I have done a little creating!

I had a play with some of the new stamps in the Spring/Summer catalogue to make a card for a friend's birthday. Now that her birthday is past I can show it.
I used a pretty new set called Butterfly Basics which comes with a matching set of framelits to cut out the butterflies. I also used Work of Art to make the background. The flower was fussy cut and popped up with silicone glue as the stems were a bit too narrow to easily use foam pads. I am going to enter this in Time to Craft who are looking for stripes - think my stripes down the side should qualify, and Seize the Birthday without the topping.

Editedto add: Darnell has kindly reminded me of her NBUS challenge, never thought about entering this as it is new stuff and I always think of NBUS as being older stuff! Anyhow I'm heading on over there now to enter.

  4. Really a beautiful Birthday card Sue! It's hard to find time to do all the things we love ...isn't it? I'm so glad you were able to join us at Seize the Birthday and get this post done too!

  5. I think this set is great and your card is delightful. It makes it seem not so cold with such a fun spring card. The shading is beautiful and I'm sure she loved it.

  6. This is really pretty, Sue, and shows the new set in such a nice way! I love your striped border! I'm sure your friend loved it!! If you'd like to enter, my NBUS Challenge is still going on! Hugs, Darnell

  7. Such pretty stamps, gorgeous card and love the colors!
