I have another layout to show you. This is the opening page of my Australia album. I am so glad we went to Australia last year ( Note the wrong date on my page - I have changed it since I took the photo!) instead of waiting till next year or sometime in the future, as it is unlikely we would be going after the events of the last three weeks.
I have actually been in my craft room today but only tidied away the debris from the last time I was in there. But its a start! My mojo and inspiration are definitely lacking despite having new stash to play with. But I have got a tidy desk for when inspiration strikes.
Roy is continuing to make good progress according to the doctors and they are transferring him soon to the local community hospital for rehab. The rehab is going to take a long time though as at the moment he still can't stand on is own let alone walk. His right hand is splinted and left hand very weak. Although he is now speaking and coherent his voice had almost disappeared as though he had a bad case of laryngitis but I think its through lack of use! A 10 minute drive to visit will be better though rather than the current 20 mile round trip in queuing traffic!
I have greatly appeciated all your supportive comments and good wishes. The crafty bloggers are a great community! It was also a lovely surprise to receive a "thinking of you" card yesterday from a blogging friend (you know who you are!) which really made my day although it did bring a few tears as well! I seem to be having a few weepy days this week - think it all must be catching up with me.
Good news that he is improving and that he is being moved nearer to home, nothing worse than having a treck to a hospital.
ReplyDeleteKeep your chin up and I am certain he will gain a great deal of good from rehab.
Great page by the way.

So pleased to here that Roy is improving. At least he is going in the right direction and will be easier for you when he is closer to home. Lovely page of memories that you have created. Hugs Carol S.xx
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the news on Roy is getting better. Slow but steady now. Rehab will help him get his strength back and hopefully back up on his feet. I'm sure they will be doing work with his hands too. I'm glad your trip to see him has been reduced to only ten minutes. So much easier on you. I'm so glad you had the opportunity to visit Australlia. It looks like a wonderful trip and I can't wait to see your other pages. This one is great and it's nice to have a picture record of the trip. I know what you mean aboout the tears. I recently received a sweet card from a blogger friend that brought me to tears as well. It means a lot to know that others are thinking of you. Please know I am thinking of you and praying for you and Roy.
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased he's making progress and will soon be nearer home for visiting. You're absolutely right about not putting things off until later, as you NEVER know what's round the corner (thank goodness!).
ReplyDeleteWeepy days are only to be expected after the shock you've had and for all the long days of recovery to come. But things WILL get better.
Hugs, Sarn xxx

Glad you got that trip in last year, Sue! Remembering those fun times will help to get you through the hard times. I'm glad Roy is doing better and will be closer. Hope you can relax more and get crafty to relieve some stress! Thoughts and prayers stay with you both.
ReplyDeleteDoing the layout must be bringing back lots of memories, Sue. It's wonderful that you have them! I'm sure now that Roy is doing better, all your emotions are surfacing. It's like you've been walking around just holding your breath all these weeks with all the uncertainty. I've been on a little holiday, so checking in just now I'm so pleased to hear that Roy is doing great, under the circumstances, and that he is now ready for physical therapy. I am keeping you both in my prayers! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear your news of your partner. I pray he will fully recover and enjoy many more trips withyou in the future.
ReplyDeleteYour page is lovely!
So happy for you that some progress is being made. That is good news, and thank you for sharing this. How splendid that you have these memories that you can scrap and recall a happier time. I'm sure that you are beyond being worn out yourself, with the hospital visits & big worry as well. At least you can comfort yourself that you are seeing improvement and that he is closer so you don't have to be stressed over the traffic too. TFS & Hope you will get some rest this evening and have a good Sunday visit.
