I think I'm a bit like a London bus, nothing for ages then two come along! It's my friend's birthday on Valentine's Day and I always find it difficult to know what to get her. Toiletries are out as she has usually just given me some, and flowers are definitely out as her house always looks like a florists on her birthday! So this year I decided to have a go at making a picture. When I visited my son last year my DIL had bought a picture which was a row of butterflies in a long white box frame, and at the time I said I could have made it! I couldn't find a long box frame but instead bought an 8" x 8" one from Hobbycraft.
My first attempt only had 4 butterflies but it looked too naked so decided on 6 . I was really rather pleased with it so hope she likes it!
I'm going to take this over to the Playground as it used up quite a few snippets of white card, and also over to Mrs A's Butterfly challenge where she wants to see inks used.
That's really pretty Sue and I'm sure that your friend will be thrilled with it and will treasure it for years to come X
ReplyDeleteNow aren't you the clever crafter! This is so very pretty, and these butterflies are just gorgeous in the shadow box. What a thoughtful gift, and something your friend can display, remember that you thought of her - each time she sees it. I really like the way you've colored those butterflies too. Hope all is going well at your house with the health mending! Great that your butterfly shadowbox fit in both the Playground & Butterfly Challenge! TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteWow Sue that's fantastic. What a wonderful present for your friend. I should think she'd be over the moon. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteI love al the rainbow colours of the butterflies and its a lovely way to display them all. Your friend won't be expecting this nice surprise. Thankyou for fluttering by and getting inky for my challenge. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours and I think you are quite right about the 6 being just right and lovely use of the inks.

Wonderful Sue! I bet your friend will absolutely adore this. I think the six butterflies work so well because they're wider and also shorter in length from top to toe. Probably the ratio is two thirds of the width, which makes a perfect six!

Oh my, I know she will love this. It is a sweet, personal gift and different from flowers and perfume. That is just a great idea and I love it. The colors are great and she can use it anywhere in her home.
ReplyDelete. . . and you are right to be pleased with it Sue. It's absolutely GORGEOUS and bound to please your friend.
