So here we are in 2019! I hope you have all had a lovely time over the holidays, but now we are back to business with the first of the Happy Little Stampers challenges.
I was rapidly running out of time just before Christmas when I made this card and found texture and watercolour difficult to combine, so went with an embossing folder to add the texture.
As I had also used my last sympathy card in the previous week I decided to make at least one to have in my stash of cards. The stamp I used is an old favourite from Little Claire, and I frequently use it for sympathy cards. I watercoloured it with DI Oxides. I had stamped the image and started colouring it before I remembered that SU cardstock doesn't really like water, but fortunately it didn't bubble like it usually does.
I do hope you will join in with us and look forward to seeing your creations.
Really gorgeous card Sue, love the colour and a super image and a great CAS effect.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you too.

I always find these cards so difficult when I actually need them and usually try to have a small selection "in stock" - this one is lovely

Your lavender sympathy card is so pretty, Sue! The texture frame around your bouquet works perfectly!! Wishing you all the best in 2019! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to know I wasn't the only one who initially drew a blank when putting watercolour and texture together. ;) And we definitely ended up on the same wavelength - purples, embossing folder, sympathy card! This has such a pretty CAS design. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful embossed background Sue. Love your stamping and of course the colours are a favourite of mine. Such a lovely cas card.
