The beginning of April brings a number of family birthdays, all fairly close together. The first one is Roy's. As many of you will know he is a keen collector of model soldiers, so when I came across this stamp from Picture This last year I had to buy it, and had been waiting to ink it ever since.
I coloured him with a mix of Copics and Promarkers then fussy cut him out. The background is made up of snippets of scrapbooking paper. I thought the stripy one looked a bit regimental! The sentiment strip is computer generated as I added his old Regimental cap badge to either side. I'm pleases to say it was very well received.

Fabulous card, Sue. It sounds like it’s a perfect design for Roy. xx
ReplyDeleteGreat card Sue and what a fun image - Roy is bound to love it. So appropriate. And how nice to find a man with a hobby that doesn't mean afternoons watching footie etc. Guitars and archery rule here!

No wonder it was well received by Roy. It's a great masculine card and particularly pertinent to your beloved!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. Come and enjoy a hot cross bun up in the Treehouse! x

ReplyDeleteFab card - love the colours, Jo x
ReplyDeleteIt's always wonderful when we can make a customized design for a loved one and this is just that, Sue! I can see why Roy loved it, especially with the addition of the badges! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Happy Belated Birthday to Roy! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteGosh aren't you good, remembering you had this stamp for him, I've bought stuff and then bought more then, still forgot to use them! I'm sure he loved this thoughtful and fun card. I do. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun birthday card for a model soldier collector! I love this soldier on your card Sue. The papers work perfectly with him as well. I bet Roy loved it too! Hugs, Brenda
